Praise God for His relentless goodness, grace, and mercies, which are new every morning! We are particularly thankful for Eric, a young man who recently moved next door to us. We visited him to introduce ourselves and welcome him to the neighborhood. While standing on his front porch, I was also able to introduce him to the Saviour. Eric works on a merchant cargo ship and is away from home a great deal, but we have invited him to church. Pray that he will visit soon and that he will grow spiritually.
The blessings of God continue, as one of our young men, who is called of God to the ministry, has finally started in his Bible college experience. Another young man in our church has lodged his application to follow suit in the new year, and a third young man is also praying about training for full-time service by 2019, assuming the Lord tarries. Mark, the young man who left for Bible college a few years ago, visited recently with his bride. They are serving at a church in Sydney and are seeking the Lord’s will about starting a church or pastoring an existing church in Australia.
Thank you for praying for Cassandra’s salvation and now her spiritual growth. It is thrilling to see her so excited about her new life in Christ. She is never short of questions in her journey of spiritual growth, which is greatly encouraging to Laura and me. She was baptized in rather chilly water just a week or two after her salvation.
Please pray for Leslie, a lady who relocated from the mainland to this area. Laura has had an opportunity to witness to her, but she has started attending the local Mormon church. Her uncle had taken her to the Mormon Sunday school when she was a child, so out of respect for her uncle, she thought she should go there. Please pray that her eyes will be opened to the truth now that she is an adult and that Laura will have the opportunity to speak with her further.
In closing, we remind ourselves that at a practical level, Laura and I are indebted to you for your ongoing support that enables us to serve Him here in Tasmania. Again, thank you, as we, too, pray for your continued co-labor in reaching the lost with the Gospel.
All for His glory, and in the service of our King,
Bro. Andrew Steers
