“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.” (II Peter 1:2)
Praise the Lord for His goodness! It is great to be home. We arrived in Thailand on December 19 and had to hit the ground running—we had scheduled to share the story of the birth of Christ and the Gospel in many schools. Our church, with the help of a group of Christians from Mexico, was able to share the Gospel with more than 10,000 students in the month of December. The group from Mexico wore costumes and acted out the story of Jesus’ birth while the story was told. Thank God for them and their eagerness to help. They were a tremendous blessing. The children really enjoyed it and gave extra attention to it. After telling of Jesus’ birth, we shared with them why Jesus came. What a great time we had!
It was good to come home and see that the church had not diminished, but had increased. Glory to God! The Lord blessed again on Christmas Sunday by helping us to set a new attendance record that morning—only to be broken that night, with 122 in attendance. Those who came were very attentive to the Word which was preached unto them. Many responded, trusting Christ as their Saviour. I love preaching the Gospel and seeing people come to the Saviour!
As I informed you in the last letter, Bro. LK, who leads the church plant in Nepal, was very sick, nigh unto death. God lifted him from his deathbed, and he is able to teach the people, once again, the wonderful words of God. This is the only Baptist church in this whole region. Please lift them up in your prayers as they go and share the good news of Jesus Christ in this country that is continuously becoming more and more hostile to Christians.
As this year ended and the new year began, it was exciting to reflect back on what the Lord had done this past year, and we are looking forward to what He will do in 2019. Please keep us in your prayers as we are marching forward for the cause of Christ on your behalf here in South and Southeast Asia.
Thank you for all your faithful prayers and support!
Yours for His harvest,
Andrew Long
