Israel and Tonya Alvarez Prayer Letter: A Very Busy and Exciting Summer!

We have had a very exciting summer. The summer months are always our busiest, and this year was no exception. June began with our church jumping in with Bible Clubs for our neighborhood a few times a week. There were games, snacks, singing, and, of course, Bible studies. Summer can be a time where the kids get out of schedule. These Bible Clubs help them keep out of trouble and in church. Praise the Lord, many of these children made the decision to trust Christ. That is worth all the time and hard work needed to prepare these Bible Clubs.

July brought us to our annual Fires of Evangelism conference. God brought 24 pastors from 4 different countries. The goal is to have teaching and preaching that encourages pastors to stay in the fight, keep their families close, and keep their ministries focused on the Great Commission. Our guest speakers were used greatly to accomplish these goals. Four people surrendered their lives to God during the conference.

In August, our sending church, Faith Baptist Church of Wildomar, California, was with us for our annual Vacation Bible School. Although God sent a great amount of rain, 120 attended 1 or all 4 days of VBS. The youth from Faith Baptist Church did an amazing job of teaching lessons, organizing crafts, leading group games, and giving the Gospel. Several children trusted Christ. Their helpfulness and love encouraged our family and the young people from our church. Thank you!

The same week of our Vacation Bible School, we had the Grand Opening of our first English service on Sunday mornings. Praise our great God that 33 people visited our services that morning. Since then, we have had 2 families and several children return. We are asking prayer that God would continue to bring people here who are looking for Christ.

In the past 2 weeks, we have had 3 new families visit our Spanish evening services, and 4 people have been baptized. We give all the praise to God, Who allows us to witness His moving in the hearts of His people.

Our children’s library/education center is slowly coming together. We ask that you pray that we would know the exact steps to take to see this project come to fruition. God’s mercy is evident, and we are confident He will direct us in this matter.

Please pray for our church anniversary in October. After 14 years on the mission field, all we can say is GOD IS GOOD! He gives the increase.
