PRAYER LETTERS
LATEST
Thank you for covering us in your prayers and encouragements over the last months. We wrote to you about Star and Rain having to depart from us. In the final moments leading up to their leaving for the USA, they were told that Immigration is delaying everything for at least three months. We continue to trust the Lord in this matter but are very glad to have Star and his family continuing to serve with us for now. Jack, the son of Pong and Da, has always been exciting to work with. We have known Jack since he was a little boy. Recently, Jack committed to giving more time and service with our team and ministries. Today, Jack translates the teaching and preaching, goes soul winning and visiting regularly, and is plugged into a rotation of Junior Church preaching and more. We are also encouraged with another young man, Dton, who has been working with the Hua Hin church over the last year and is involved with and learning many areas of the ministry. He will be 21 in April, drawing a card to see if he will be required to serve the customary two years as a soldier or not. If Dton does go into the military, it is likely he will serve locally, allowing continued ministry involvement with us. Please pray for all three of these men and their families. Dton was led to the Lord through Matthew Bosje in 2018 during a visit here. Bro. Matt and his family have worked hard to prepare, come, and serve God’s calling to Thailand as he, Mrs. Katie Belle, and their son Mikey will be joining the ministries here very soon. Please pray for their travels across the world and settlement into Hua Hin. Also, please pray for Ms. Anna Long, as she recently began her deputation, following God’s call to Thailand and also working with our team. The future is bright as God prepares and sends many younger preachers and teachers to reach the Thailand people within the 10/40 Window. I’m just so glad and thankful for Bro. Matt’s family and Ms. Anna wanting to serve here. We look forward to caring for them and helping them to serve the Lord with gladness.
I have even more to be thankful for here. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of care, support, and love we receive from not only our supporting churches but also from our sending church, First Baptist Church of Hammond, and our mission board, FBMI. Bro. Mark Bosje has recently come to Thailand twice to personally care for changes in our ministries and be a healing balm with some of the trials we have been facing. These trials, when handled correctly, have the ability to draw us closer to God, teaching us to be a stronger, more resilient Christians through humility, love, patience, and reverence to God. Pastor Bosje led our team families in starting our first church near Bangkok in 2008, as well as the current IBC-Hua Hin church, which began in 2012. I’m thankful for faithful, Godly leadership during the storms. I know God is with us and the ministries here, so it’s an exciting time to serve Him, reaching and teaching the people of Thailand so they can reach and teach people in Thailand and beyond.
IBC-Nong Phlap
Pastor Pong has been faithful and joyous in leading the church week after week. Pong and I encourage one another as we serve in different churches on Sundays and Wednesdays. We still visit and go soul winning together. Sarah is also very involved in the children’s ministries at Nong Phlap. Attendances range between 120 and 150 each Sunday. In January and February 2025, we had 52 salvations.
IBC-Hua Hin
Our attendances range between 55 and 75. We are certainly in a time of rebuilding, with many new visitors and a fresh outlook. The spirit of the services and people is excellent. Please pray for continued healing, growth, and reach. We know it can and will happen through God’s leading and the building of His church, coupled with our humility and optimism. In January and February 2025, we had 35 salvations.
Lands
Many of you reading this prayed and/or contributed to the lands that have been purchased for the Hua Hin (5.5 acres) and Nong Phlap (2 acres) churches. We will never forget the miracles of God directing the land purchases and the unusually low purchase prices. Please continue to pray for the planning and development of the lands. We want what God wants, in God’s timing. Thank you for your prayers and contributions to the lands and building projects. Opportunities run deep, and we look forward to pursuing as God leads.
Soul Winning
Our soul winning continues, and it is great when more teenagers want to get involved. Just today, our group of 5 embarked on a new coffee shop and walked just a few steps down the road until we met Grandma Bruak. At 83, living in Hua Hin for the last 60 years, she listened intently to the Gospel and ended up tearfully accepting Jesus into her heart. So many people here have had difficult lives, are up in age, and are wondering what is next. Upon Bruak’s salvation, her friend Duan, a motorcycle taxi driver, pulled up. He saw that she was emotionally moved. She gave Duan the look of “you need to listen to this,” so he took an immediate interest. As we gave the Gospel, you could sense that Duan was thinking humbly, “This is the day that I learn about my destiny. After all of these years, this morning is the time where I learn the Truth of God. The Salvation. The Hope. The Goodness.” Duan was so very thankful, and it won’t surprise me at all if both Bruak and Duan come to church soon. Thank you for your love towards missionaries. I look forward to writing more soon. “The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.” (I Kings 8:57)
