The Lord is so good! “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” (Psalm 68:19) We are so blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord in Rwanda, and what a privilege it is to partner with so many great Christians and churches.
It is so wonderful to see people here sacrificing their time and energy for the sake of world missions. Many times we get the glory and credit for doing great things for God in Africa, but at the same time, I want to take a minute to remember those who give here so that we can carry the Gospel to people who have never heard.
I think of a church in New Jersey that gave $1,500 so that we could get some radio equipment. Then in Michigan, a church gave $1,700 so we could print our discipleship book. Then in New Jersey again, a family cooked for days to provide a seven-course Italian dinner for four to five missionary families.
Then a pastor in Maryland, who really should have been in the hospital, pushed himself to still host a missions conference night after night. He also provided all kinds of great gifts for the kids. Another pastor in Maryland, whom we dropped in on unannounced, immediately took us on for support—not because he knew us, but because he had a heart to reach an area that is unreached.
Then there are the scores of volunteers who cook for missions banquets and dinners to feed so many missionaries; and, yes, we all gained a bunch of weight on furlough. Yummy! Then, of course, there are all of the decorations that go up in so many of the churches we visit.
In short, September and October were great months for us to get our batteries recharged for the ministry when we see that we do not suffer or sacrifice alone. Thank you all so much. These two months we saw 19 people trust Christ out soul winning, and 150 saved through the radio.
