On September 15, Theresa and I arrived safely in Haiti after a two-month furlough in the States. We were able to report to 10 of our supporting churches. We had opportunities to spend some quality time with friends, children, grandchildren, and my 91-year-old dad, who still lives by himself in an apartment. For seven days earlier this month, I was privileged to help Sam and Krista Marasco (our daughter and son-in-law) with a new church plant in Fenton, Missouri. The Ambassador Baptist Church (to be pastored by Tracy Nix) will have its Grand Opening on September 20. Praise God!
We don’t have a harvest problem, but we do have a laborer problem. I pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send more laborers to Haiti. I also pray that the Lord would send more laborers to your field. Why should more mosques be started in the United States in this day than Bible-believing and Bible-practicing churches?!
Yesterday, September 17, I was back in my usual Thursday morning place in our local open market. It was 90 degrees-plus in our apartment, so it was easily triple digits where we have tract distribution and evangelism. It is not so awesome to pass out 400 or 500 tracts each week, but it is awesome to walk through the market afterwards and not find a single tract discarded.
On October 4, the Victory Baptist Church of Bronx, New York, pastored by Ken Baker with his wife Denise, will have their Grand Opening. Although this work is several years old, they are remodeling a former auto-parts store to relocate. We appreciate your prayers concerning this endeavor.
Thank you very much for your prayer and financial investment in our ministry.
Respectfully,
Keith and Theresa Baker
