Psalm 100:4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
We are very thankful that the Lord has seen fit to give us another year of service for Him. Praise God, He is still using us to reach souls and allowing us to help establish New Testament Baptist churches in Southeast Asia!
The first part of the New Year, 2014, was spent fighting record snow falls and sub-zero weather. As you all well know, it was one of the worst in many years. After having to cancel one meeting because of the weather, God allowed me to keep my flight out of Chicago, and I arrived in Bangkok on January 9th.
My first week-end back in Thailand, I had the pleasure to help Brother Eddie Arold, Pastor of First Baptist Church Nawong, with my old bus route and taking part in the Sunday services. Sunday morning, Brother Eddie had 127 in attendance, 17 saved, and 15 baptized. Praise the Lord!
It was so good to be in a warm place in 70 degree weather. However, it was winter time for the Thai people, and they were COLD! They build fires outside their homes to stay warm.
On January 14th, Pastor and Mrs. Curtis Hall arrived to see the work in Thailand first hand. Maranatha Baptist Church in Newburgh, Indiana has supported us for many years, and he is the first supporting Pastor that has come to see our work being done in Southeast Asia. Enclosed is a letter from Pastor Hall about what he heard and saw on their trip. I wanted him to tell you in his own words what the Lord is doing in that part of the world.
I spent some time with a new missionary called to Thailand, Jeff Gross. I was able to put some of his personal things on our last container shipped to Thailand. Please pray for him as he starts language school and is getting settled into his new world.
After flying back to America on January 28, I preached at two Mission Conferences before making preparations to return to Bangkok.
During the months of January and February, the Lord allowed me to see 2,739 souls come to know the Lord, 47 followed the Lord in baptism, and nearly 400 surrendered to full-time Christian service. What a mighty God we serve! Thank you for your part in making our work possible!
Into all the world,
Brother Bowen
