“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace!” (Isaiah 9:6)
We are so thankful that we serve a mighty God, Who gives us peace and counsels us. He truly is wonderful, as the prophet Isaiah wrote about Jesus before He was ever born.
We moved on April 1 to the church land on the outskirts of the city. It is an informal area that is in the first stages of becoming a formal one. I stayed in a tent for 2½ months before that, taking turns with a couple of the young men for security needs, as the land got cleared and then the fence went up.
Update on Phase 1
1. The land is cleared, and the fence is up, as stated in the last letter.
2. The temporary house is built, and the cement floor is completed.
3. The big gate is up (the gate for cars to go in needed to be done separately).
4. The water meter and lines are in and connected to the house.
5. The sewer line is in and connected to the house. This was a problem we have been working on since last October. No more using the bush! Amen!
Prayer Requests
1. Leveling of the land for the tent (half done)
2. Tent for the church
3. Toilets for the church
4. Transport for the church and for us
5. Ministries of the church and souls to be saved
6. Safety and God’s hand of protection
Now that we are here in Otjomuise, we have been able to start all the ministries back up. We are meeting in our house for church. This was the second Sunday, with 57 in church. (The adults sat in the chairs, and the children had to be put back on our bed). Our Ladies’ Bible Study is on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Mama Du Preschool is on Wednesday mornings. Our Men’s Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. We have soul winning on Fridays at 4 p.m., and Children’s Bible Time is on Saturdays at 2 p.m. Only the ministry to the deaf school is not functioning due to lack of transport. There have been 30 souls saved for our Saviour.
Thank you for your sacrifice for us to be here. We have not been able to communicate as we would like, because we have no electricity, no telephone line, and no internet yet. Our cell phone does not call out of the country, but we can receive your calls. We have to get a special card from Telecom to call out, which doesn’t work very well.
