We are praising the Lord for all He has done for us during the last few months of the year, both in the ministries and in our family. Here are some of the highlights:
1. Village Bible Clubs – Hua Hin
We held our 3rd Annual Village Bible Clubs during the third week of October. This year, we held clubs in 5 different locations in and around Hua Hin and had over 140 kids attend. I participated in a club in a new area called Khao Takiab, where a few of our faithful members live. We had good attendance, and several of the children were saved. I personally was able to lead 3 young men to the Lord. We have since started a bus route in that area, and the kids are coming faithfully each week. Please pray for these children to continue to come and to be a testimony to their unsaved families.
2. Bible English Camp – Kabin Buri
My brother Jeff brought a group from his church again at the end of October, and we held a Bible English Camp for my friend who runs a small orphanage in Kabin Buri and their surrounding community. Those who came on the missions trip provided the funds to make this happen, and those who came to camp each day were truly blessed by their love and hard work. For me, it was a time of multiple blessings—being able to minister with my dear friend and see her amazing love for her “children” and all that the Lord is doing in their lives, being able to serve the Lord alongside my brother and sister-in-law for only the second time in the past 30 years, and Evelyse being able to get to know her family just a little bit more. The Lord blessed, and we had over 80 campers and workers there each day. In the evenings, we had dinner and devotions with the kids at the home. What a special time it was, with much laughing and tears as we got to know the girls more. I was humbled as I listened to their testimonies of what the Lord had brought them through and their desire to live a Christian life.
3. Soul-Winners’ Conference – Bangkok
In November, we took our church staff to a conference held at our first church plant, pastored by Bro. Eddie Arold. The sessions and services were a great encouragement. The guest speaker was Pastor Corey Seulean. His testimony—that he has been able to lead someone to the Lord every single day for the past 19 years—was mind-blowing and challenged me to be even more aware of those I come into contact with each day, not just during regularly scheduled soul-winning and visitation times. Please pray for more Thai Christians to be burdened for their own people.
4. Faith Baptist Church – South Bangkok
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, our staff took several vanloads of church members to attend the opening of a new church plant by our missionary friends, Eddie and Nayra Perez. We arrived early to join others in passing out flyers and inviting the community to attend the service. One of our faithful couples, Oot and Oun, met a man, shared the Gospel with him, and invited him to attend. He arrived shortly after the service began. Afterward, one of the Thai men helping the Perezes plant the church shared the Gospel with him again, and he was saved. Praise the Lord! Please pray for this new work.
5. Senior Saints Christmas Activity – Pansook
What an amazing time our staff had together with over 30 of our dear faithful senior saints. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a time of singing, games, and testimonies of favorite Bible verses. After lunch, everyone headed either to the gardens—where there was also a little petting zoo—or to the gift shop to spend the small amount of cash we gave each of them. Many who attended said they had never been on such an outing in their entire lives. It truly was a special time spent together. Please pray for our senior saints as they witness to their families and neighbors.
6. Christmas Sunday
What an amazing day it was! We had 572 in attendance, and everything went so smoothly. We presented a nativity drama, and a clear presentation of the Gospel was given. Our staff is busy following up with all those who visited on that special day. Please pray that many will come again to church and desire to know more about Christ.
7. Heavenly Treasures
A gift of money was given at the beginning of December that allowed me to take some fruit, snacks, clothes, and blankets to the Karen orphanage in Pala-U for Christmas. There was enough for me to also have a Christmas party for my Heavenly Treasures girls. In my devotion, I asked the girls to share two things they were thankful for from the past year, one thing they wanted to give up or an area they planned to work on in the new year, and two things they were hoping or praying for the Lord to do in and through their lives in the coming year. Their responses were precious. Please pray for the girls.
Thank you for your part in the ministry here in Thailand. So many lives have been touched because of your faithful prayers and financial support. We pray for all of you and trust that the Lord will truly bless you.
Serving the Master joyfully,
Shari & Evelyse
