“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth . . . .” (Romans 1:16)
The Devil is such a tactician. He knows his time is short, so he has used every means possible to distract lost souls—and mobile technology is a popular weapon. At the same time, he has used these devices to lull many of God’s servants into complacency as well. Because I use technology every day to reach the lost living within closed borders, I am careful to “keep the main thing the main thing.” Please intercede in prayer on this, if you would. The Lord has helped us keep the Good News emphasized and prioritized. We know that these tools of technology can either be a lifeline or a noose. We feel doubly accountable, but thankfully, God continues to give us the victory, with fruit to your account! Here are some new salvations from this past month.
P___, our Afghani Bible college student, preached his first devotional during our Wednesday prayer meeting. He did such a wonderful job! This man and his daughter are confined in hiding as refugees in Pakistan, and still, he has learned to “rejoice always”! P___ preached on his favorite verses in Isaiah, Isaiah 43:1-4, highlighting, “. . . when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned . . . .” I have to pinch myself knowing that God lets me be a part of this man’s life! Pray for P___ and N___, please.
Remember H___, the Iraqi college student in Michigan? After five sessions explaining the Bible and how the prophets pointed to Jesus, H___ trusted Christ! She has begun a journey she will never regret, but understands she will now face a family who will be disappointed, even hostile, about her decision. Please pray for her family to come to Christ as well!
Just over a week ago, we had two Persian women (a mother and daughter) join our Friday preaching session. The topic for the day was, “How to Identify and Avoid Enticers.” At the end of this two-hour session, both women asked to be saved. It was easy to see that a preacher friend of mine had been sowing and watering in their lives. How sweet it was to lead them in the sinner’s prayer and hear it translated step by step in the Farsi language. I will never tire of this! Please pray for their growth and ability to attend future sessions.
Finally, I want to tell you about J___ M___, a man in his mid-twenties whom I met at a rest stop on the way home from a church meeting. As I started to climb into our vehicle, my spiritually sensitive wife said, “Go witness to that man at the picnic bench.” It turns out that J___, who was a professional fitness trainer, was moving from New York to Colorado. I obeyed the Holy Spirit (and my wife) and spent a half hour with this man, who was open and tender. He was so glad to be saved, he hugged me three times! We must ignore those impulses that scatter us from soul-winning opportunities—so many times they want to hear about Jesus!
