Team Ghana Update: Ministry in MampontengPastor Kingsley Addai graduated from our Bible college in 2018, and he started the Fundamental Baptist Church of Mamponteng at the end of 2019. In August, this church in Mamponteng hosted their Second Annual Vacation Bible School. One of our team members, Miss Larae Hoff, and one of Pastor Kingsley’s converts, Emmanuel Asamoah, organized the program. The theme for the VBS was, “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.” It was held August 26-29 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. each day. Twenty-two people from our church in Bohyen, including 12 men from our Bible college, went to Mamponteng that week to help with the program.

God blessed their efforts by giving them 309 children and teens in attendance, with 115 of them putting their faith in Jesus. Equally amazing was that 130 of the children and teens who came had already been reached with the Gospel through Pastor Kingsley’s church or through their Bible Club ministry. At least one family has started attending the church in Mamponteng as a result of the VBS. The father, John Domfeh, even came to visit our Bible college for a couple of days. We thank God for the work He has done! Pastor Kingsley requests prayer for their church as they follow up on the children and families ministered to through this Vacation Bible School.

Please pray for the Kingsley Addai family! In 2016, Pastor Kingsley married Lydia Amofowaah, and God has blessed them with four children: Elizabeth (8), Lindsey (6), Kenneth (3), and Preston (1). Pastor Kingsley testifies, “Our boys were born with infantile spasms, which has caused development delays. Both boys depend on us to carry them everywhere they need to go. They are not yet able to talk. They are on medication to help control their seizures. Other health complications have necessitated many visits to the hospital. We pray and believe that one day our boys will be able to talk and walk and sit on their own, but in the midst of all of these challenges, we see the goodness of God every day. He is teaching our family many lessons. We realize that His ways are not our ways, and His plans are not our plans. The Lord has connected us to believers who pray for us and support and help as God lays it on their hearts. These trials have equipped us to counsel others who are going through difficult situations.”

And their health challenges were multiplied last month. On September 3, one of Preston’s sisters was playing with him, and he accidentally fell from a porch; this fractured his left tibia and displaced his right femur. Preston is now having to wear a cast on both legs as the bones heal. Then just days after this accident, both boys were hospitalized with diarrhea and vomiting. We praise God that both children are now home from the hospital.

Please pray for these two young boys to make a full recovery. Pray for God to strengthen Pastor Kingsley and Mrs. Lydia with His grace through these trials. Thank you!
