We are so excited about what God is doing, and we are so grateful for the faithfulness of your love, prayers, and support that are helping us to reach precious souls for the Lord.
As many of you know, one of the desires of my heart is to take groups of young people from good Bible institutes and churches down here in Mexico to travel with me to help churches in evangelistic campaigns from time to time. This summer, God gave me the privilege of taking from 5 to 11 different people with me at different times and in different places, including Puebla, Tlaxcala, Irapuato, and Guadalajara. Every few days, we were in a different church, so we were with 11 churches. Every day we were doing something (giving out tracts, personal evangelism, and mass evangelism) to reach others for Christ. Sometimes we held 3 to 4 outdoor evangelistic events per day. We used different types of promotions, including clown shows, food, candy, toys, fun crowd-participation games, other kinds of shows with animated costumes, and exciting songs, with everything geared to helping prepare the people to hear and respond to the preaching of the Gospel.
It was rainy season, and it rained many days. However, the Lord blessed with a great harvest of souls. Some of the churches chose to make their midweek service an evangelistic service because that was the only service we were there with them, and they had incredible attendances with many salvations. Let me mention just three. A church in a small town in Puebla had over 20 visitors in their midweek service, even though it poured rain. A church in Irapuato had an evangelistic midweek service with around 100 visitors, with the majority trusting Christ as their Saviour and 15 following the Lord in believer’s baptism. A young church about 2 years old in Guadalajara also had over 100 visitors at a midweek service. God blessed our evangelistic efforts working with many churches; and, praise the Lord, we preached the Gospel to a total of over 6,000 precious souls, with the majority of them trusting Christ as their Saviour! To God be all the glory!
We are so excited that we are able to encourage and train churches to share the Gospel of Christ each and every day through giving out Gospel tracts and personal soul winning. We also emphasize the importance of mass evangelism, as illustrated by the early church in the book of Acts and also by the lives of Paul, Peter, and others. Of course, the Lord Jesus Christ was a great example of personal evangelism and also of preaching to the multitudes. I have tried to teach and preach that we should follow the great Biblical pattern of reaching people through personal evangelism and mass evangelism.
