People often ask me, “Why did you choose Ghana?” The truth is, I didn’t choose Ghana; Ghana and, more specifically, God chose me!
My second trip to Ghana during January and February of this year was even more life-changing than the first. With God’s help, I was actually able to start a walking “bus” route! I was able to see many of these precious souls saved and baptized during my stay and many more baptized after I left. I regularly get updates on their discipleship progress and even a Bible Club that sprouted from this. By God’s grace, I was also able to start an on-campus popcorn business that employs church members. Thankfully, this small business is still thriving, and all of the proceeds go towards our church’s missions fund.
Since my return in early March, I’ve been telling everybody about the exciting, thriving Gospel ministry in Ghana! I started deputation at the end of April, completed Candidate School in June, attended Missions University in July, and was commissioned as an FBMI missionary last night, July 20, 2025! During Missions University, I was able to fellowship with some of my friends and fellow missionaries on Team Ghana: Ted Speer, Michael Sarver, and Baraka Hall.
Last week, I was soul winning in San Antonio, Texas, with my good friend Tony Orozco (Texas Baptist Church) and led a man named Joe to the Lord. I first saw him sitting in front of a homeless shelter looking a bit down. I didn’t lead in with the Gospel. Instead, I just started talking to him and soon asked him if he was hungry. I offered to take him to breakfast, and by the time we got back, I had won a friend. My friend Tony then showed up, led in with the Gospel, and personally baptized him in church the next day—way to hog all the glory, Tony!
I’ve been on a cross-country road trip for two months now, thankfully with no accidents or major car problems. Please continue to pray for traveling mercies and that my heart would be encouraged during the tough times. Being a single missionary traveling across the country can get challenging and lonesome, as you could probably imagine, but God is always so faithful.
It is such a privilege to serve under Ted Speer alongside a ministry team that is pumping out national pastors like a well-oiled machine! As a ministry leader and entrepreneur, my primary roles on Team Ghana will be to help train ministry leaders through the Bible college and assist national pastors in sustaining businesses that will allow them to function independently. I am so excited to get back to Ghana in 2026! Please pray that God would prosper my fundraising efforts and that He would allow me to win souls and encourage pastors and churches along the way. May God richly bless you, and I hope to see you soon!
