God bless you. Thank you for taking the time to read our update, and thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord. In our previous report, we shared how wonderful it is to serve God. We’ve learned so much along the way, and it’s truly special to see God move in every situation and at every moment. We’re grateful that He is always working—in our lives and in the hearts of those who receive Him as their Saviour. We see this continually in the mission field and wherever we go: when we share Christ with someone and they receive Him by faith, God works in their heart. That is the power of the Gospel!
During these past two months, we’ve continued preaching the Gospel weekly, and thanks be to God, we have led several souls to Christ. I ask for your prayers for them. God knows who they are and the decision they made for Him. In June, we had the opportunity to share the Gospel with a good number of people out on the streets, and 17 accepted Jesus as their Saviour. We are also continuing to disciple others, and I ask for your prayers that they may grow in their faith.
We’ve been praying for a van for our ministry. This is one of our main needs right now, and we’ve shared this prayer request before. Our current van is very old and is no longer reliable for transporting people to church. It’s a 1992 model, and insurance companies no longer want to cover it. We’re praying to continue with this route and asking the Lord to provide another van. We’ve raised 25% of what we need so far, but it’s not enough. Please pray that God would provide for this need.
Over the last few Sundays, we’ve brought some visitors to church through door-to-door outreach—what a blessing! Two families also found us online and came to visit. We had never seen Facebook bring visitors before, but this time it did! Of course, we also led them to Christ. We thank God that even through digital means, we are able to reach others. We keep pressing forward in God’s work, praying that He continues to open doors to share the Gospel beyond our city. Please pray for our upcoming evangelistic trip to another community outside the city at the end of July. We’re hoping to see many souls saved confessing Christ as their Saviour. We’ll share how it goes in our next report. We also ask you to pray for God’s continued provision for these trips, which involve extra expenses and effort, but we trust that He is our Provider.
In May, God gave me the opportunity to preach His Word one Sunday at Central Baptist Church in Harlingen, Texas, and at Victory Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas, another Sunday. We were able to present our ministry at both churches—praise God for that! In July, I traveled from Durango to Mexico City to attend the National Pastors’ Conference at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Wynne. It was a week of spiritual challenge for all of us pastors, missionaries, and evangelists who attended. God spoke to our hearts in a special way, and we made important decisions to keep serving Him with passion and dedication. It’s encouraging to see what God is doing in Mexico through veteran missionary ministries like Pastor Wynne’s and to reaffirm that the Lord is still doing great works in our times and in our country. I left feeling encouraged and blessed by the knowledge and example of veteran pastors and missionaries who taught us younger ones. Without a doubt, those four days were the spiritual refreshment I personally needed.
As for our family, by God’s grace my wife and I are doing well. I ask for your prayers especially for our health and a personal family request we have—God knows our hearts and desires. We truly appreciate and need your constant prayers.
Please also pray for some meetings we have coming up in August, where we’ll attend two Missions Conferences and have the opportunity to share the work. We pray that God keeps opening doors and guiding us.
We love you and thank you for caring about what’s happening in our lives and for praying for us.
His servants,
Arturo & Ismerai Garza
