Caleb and Emily Christiansen Prayer Letter: A Month of Highs and LowsThis has certainly been a month of highs and lows, but God has been good to us through it all.

Many of you have been praying this past year for Salem Independent Baptist Church in the Eight-Miles community of Calabar, Nigeria. This was the first church plant that we had a direct hand in planting, and I had the joy of going there and preaching at their first anniversary. We had a great turnout, and it was awesome seeing what the Lord has done there through Pastor Elson and his wife. Please pray for this church, as they are hoping to buy the property and building that are currently being rented. This would provide stability for where the church will meet and for the pastor to live, as the property could hold an auditorium and a parsonage.

We are thrilled to let you all know that we are expecting our third child. We just found out that it is a boy. We are still deciding on a name, but Lydia has decided that his name is just “Boy Baby.” However, in our recent ultrasounds, the doctors found some things that were concerning and needed to be monitored. However, the Nigerian medical system does not have the capability to handle the issues if things take a turn for the worse. So, we made the difficult decision to come back for furlough earlier than planned and arrived in the U.S. just last week. This way, Emily and the baby can be monitored and cared for by doctors in the U.S. Please pray for Emily and the new baby as we navigate the complications.

Lord willing, I should be able to take a trip back to the field later this year for a short time before the baby is born. Please pray, as we are still working to plant more churches in Nigeria, although from afar.

That all the world may know,

Caleb Christiansen
