Dustin and Hilda Schurg Prayer Letter: The Lord Is Good“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” (Psalm 100:5)

We began the month of April by making a 2,000-mile journey across the country to Bakersfield, California. There, we had the privilege of attending a wonderful Missions Conference at Orchard Baptist Church. We were refreshed and encouraged by the heart of the church and the clear evidence of God at work in their midst. We also made some dear new friends during our time there.

From Bakersfield, we traveled to Marina, California, where we presented our ministry at Central Coast Baptist Church. What a blessing it was to see firsthand the faithful churches across America that are punching holes in the darkness! These are things that few people get to witness, and it strengthens our hearts to know we are not alone in the work. God is clearly blessing the ministry at Central Coast.

For Resurrection Sunday, we were with one of our supporting churches, Iglesia Bautista Getsemaní, my father-in-law’s church. It was a very special day, celebrating our risen Saviour with family and dear friends.

After that, we headed to Sacramento to be with River City Baptist Church. We enjoyed reconnecting with college friends and even a close friend from my wife’s home church. It was a sweet time of fellowship and encouragement. That same Sunday, we returned to Getsemaní for a special celebration of Día del Niño (“Children’s Day”). Our children were loved and spoiled, and we were blessed to fellowship with another missionary family serving in Panama.

We closed out the month at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. Though it was our first time with them, we were amazed by how many connections we shared. It reminded us how small the world is in God’s work. The church was an unexpected blessing, and we are hopeful for a future opportunity to be with them again.

• A safe and healthy pregnancy as we enter the final stretch
• Relief and healing from nerve pain caused by a herniated disc
• Salvation of our children—our greatest desire is to see them come to Christ.
• Open doors in Texas during July and early August to present the ministry
