Keith and Theresa Baker Prayer Letter: Our Time in Barbados Has EndedTheresa and I have finished standing in for missionaries Robert and Rhoda Smith while they completed a much-needed medical furlough.

Winter has ended in Barbados, as the temperatures have moved from warm to warmer. Being only twelve degrees from the equator, we have not seen a “cooling down” since we arrived in October.

The medical procedure I had before we left the States to correct my A-Fib has proved to be a blessing. I have had no heart A-Fib episodes for several months. We appreciate your prayers.

We were able to keep a good cadence to conduct the services in St. Philip, Barbados. Sunday school commenced at 8:30 a.m. after several of us who had the use of vehicles picked up those who did not. After a brief period of refreshment and visiting, 9:45 was the starting time for the worship service. Our Sunday evening service began at 5:45 after a teachers’ meeting. On Wednesday evening, we had a Bible study and a special time of fellowship, beginning at 6:45.

On numerous occasions while on personal evangelism, we were disrespected, especially by young men, but the church members here at St. Philip were very well-mannered, supportive, and encouraging toward my wife and me since our coming.
The cadence for soul winning is “a horse of another color.” We continually circulated John and Romans and distributed Gospel tracts. We attempted to be aggressive with the salvation story and not just invite people to our services, but the indifference among the populace could be astonishing. Nevertheless, we believe God. We have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. We know that our labor is not in vain in the Lord. Only God can give the increase.

Your financial and prayer support help make our ministry possible. Thank you very much!

Respectfully,

Keith and Theresa Baker
