God is so good! He has protected us so well this year. Since our last prayer letter, we have put over 20,000 kilometers on Laura’s car while serving the Lord and ministry. I have been able to go into the prison twice on most Wednesdays—once in Fulham and once in Nalu, which is a transition-to-release prison where the prisoners have work release during the day. Most of the prisoners have anywhere from six months to two years left on their sentences and have to be well-behaved, shall we say, to get to go to Nalu. We have been blessed in the prison to have anywhere from 3 to 20 prisoners come to our Bible study. Please pray that we would be able to walk around the common areas and invite more to come hear the Gospel.
In September, Missionary Chris Eckels got to go back to the States for a few weeks, and I was able to preach for him. This was a huge blessing, as it was the first time I was able to preach for his flock. He started Westside Baptist Church before we got here over 10 years ago, and I was truly honored by how his people received us and responded to the preaching.
At the end of September, beginning of October, we were able to go to the National Baptist Fellowship (NBF) in Adelaide, South Australia, and encourage the brethren from all over Australia. What a blessing it was.
Laura is coming up on finishing one year of her piano lessons. She is doing extremely well. Jacob Evans is a young man whose family comes to our church, and he is a certified piano teacher. She is purposely trying to learn how to play congregational hymns and songs to accompany me when I preach out and there is no pianist.
We would like you to please pray for Laura and her zeal for the piano. We also sincerely ask you to continue to pray for my dear friend, Andrew Steers, as his dear wife of 21 years passed away just a few weeks ago. Laura and I felt very close to Bro. and Mrs. Andrew (Laura) Steers and are looking forward to our Heavenly reunion. I feel Bro. Andrew needs our prayers and comfort from the Holy Spirit. Please also pray for my neighbor Joel. I finally caught up with him and am still trying to get him into church and baptized. Coming up, I am planning on going to Brisbane, Queensland, to help a young missionary start a church plant. Please pray for my trip and for Sam and Tiana Harris.
