Thank you for praying for my trip to the USA. It was the first time in five years that I’ve been able to make a trip back to the States. Praise the Lord for good health and being able to visit two supporting churches, friends, and a lot of family in five different states. I had a full three weeks from beginning to end. God began working right from the start. I arrived safely back in MaeSot, Tak, Thailand on September 9.
My trip to the USA was very long. I had to catch four planes and spend the night in an airport in Bangkok. After arriving at the airport I’d need to spend the night in, I found a place to wait until I could check in. Check-in time was at 4:00 a.m., and I arrived at the airport around 11:00 p.m. People came and went, but sometime around 2:00 a.m., I heard a couple of ladies sitting near me speaking Thai. I casually said something to them, and the conversation took off from there. It came up that I was a Christian. The ladies I was talking to said they were Christians too. It turned out that one was a new Christian trying to convince her older sister to leave the Buddhist religion and become a Christian too. Her older sister was living in Korea and had different “Christian” groups coming to her door. They all had something different to say, and she was very confused. Her sister, being a new believer, knew what they were telling her sister was wrong but didn’t know how to answer her questions. I got to spend the next 2.5 hours talking with these ladies and answering their questions about God and salvation. The older sister thanked me so much for making everything so clear. They both were amazed that God used a foreigner to make the Gospel clear and take away the confusion they had. I thank God for giving me wisdom and the remembrance of the right High Thai words that I needed to use. Before going our separate ways, we exchanged contact information so they could ask me any future Biblical questions they had. May God continue to guide these ladies and bring them closer to Him.
On my way back to Thailand, God once again gave me a new friend. Near the end of my second plane trip, I realized the lady diagonally across from me was Thai. We connected instantly. We found out that we would also be transferring to the same plane going to Bangkok and changed our seats so we could sit together. She and her husband go back and forth from their home in Pennsylvania to their home in Bangkok. God has been working on her heart and putting Christians in her path everywhere she goes. She even attends church on and off with her sister-in-law. She reads the English Bible and was so excited when I helped download an English-Thai Bible onto her phone because her English isn’t very strong. While in Japan, we ran into another missionary family also traveling to Bangkok. The missionary lady and I shared the Gospel with her while waiting for our connecting flight. Even though she likes the teachings of Christianity and going to church, sadly, she isn’t ready to completely leave her Buddhist faith and cling to Jesus for eternal life. Please pray for her salvation when you think of her.
God bless,
