Thank you so much for all your prayers for us personally and for our ministry; they are truly helping us to reach precious souls for the Lord. Thank you also for praying for my mom, who is battling cancer. She is doing okay, but she definitely needs our continued prayers.
The Bible says in II Timothy 4:5, “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” It is so exciting to serve the Lord Jesus Christ as a missionary evangelist, reaching precious souls for Christ and training God’s people to be more effective in personal and mass evangelism. God has used evangelists in the Bible and throughout history to work with pastors and churches to reach the multitudes for Christ. Please pray that more pastors and churches in Mexico, in the Spanish-speaking world, and in the world in general would have more vision and passion about the need for more evangelists and that they would pray fervently for more evangelists so we can work together to reach the multitudes for Christ.
There is so much to share, but let me give you some highlights from the month of August. In Guadalajara, I was only able to help a church for a few days, but the church worked all week long with several groups of about five to eight workers in each group. Each group held evangelistic events in several different places each day. That week we preached the Gospel to well over 5,000 people, with the majority of them indicating that they were trusting Christ as their Saviour.
I received an invitation to do evangelistic events in the country of Ecuador. The Lord opened the doors, and I was able to preach there for about two weeks. The pastors were so excited and really started applying the material I sent them for preparation. One church in Santo Domingo, pastored by José Luís Fuentes, worked for about two weeks prior to my arrival there, evangelizing by preaching in public schools, on public transportation, etc. They had prayer meetings, fasted, and worked so very hard for the Lord. The Lord blessed with over 20,000 people hearing the Gospel during the evangelistic campaign, and on Sunday, the pastor told me that they had somewhere around 3,000 people in attendance, with 287 people baptized. Later in Riobamba, Ecuador, with Pastor Victor Gallo, the church worked the week before I was there and also the week after, preaching the Gospel to around 8,000 people. On the Sunday I was there, the church had a very high day, with over 3,400 people in attendance, and 345 people were baptized during the whole evangelistic campaign. Praise the Lord for thousands and thousands of people trusting Christ as their Saviour during our evangelistic campaign in Ecuador! The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. We desperately need more evangelists working with pastors and churches to reach the masses for Christ.
As a missionary evangelist, I always try to prepare pastors and churches to reach a great harvest of souls. One of the ways we help them is by sending them parts of my book, Manual of Evangelism, which will help them with prayer, publicity, planning, and promotion before, during, and after the evangelistic outreach. (Manual of Evangelism and many other helps can be found for free on my website, or if someone would like printed copies of my books, they can be obtained through Amazon.)
Please continue to pray for us as we strive to reach others for Christ. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all your love, prayers, and support that are helping us to reach precious souls for the glory and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yours for souls,
Darrell Ratcliff
