Greetings from a very wet and stormy rainy season in Santa Ana, El Salvador. We trust your summer has been productive and that you have seen God’s hand on the ministry in which you serve.
Here we have begun to see a true recovery in the ministry, post-COVID-19 shutdowns and quarantines. So many factors have affected the work here, just as I am sure they have where you serve as well. Our church attendance has seen a marked improvement, with over 100 in church every Sunday for the last month. We have had many visitors attend Sunday school and church services on Sunday mornings.
On Saturdays, our family, along with several of our church members, participates in a children’s neighborhood Bible Club. We have had a low attendance of 26 and a high attendance of 52. We are seeing new children, young people, and entire families attend church as a result of this new Bible Club. We praise the Lord for this!
The Christian school ministry is having a very good year. We are grateful for the 4 sponsors who help financially support 4 of our 16 students with $45.00 to $75.00 each. We covet your prayers for this aspect of the work here in Santa Ana. It requires half of our support to keep it going month to month. If you would like to sponsor one of our students for the rest of the school year, you may do so by donating the amount you wish to help us with to the address where we receive our support. Just designate it, “El Salvador School,” so we know that you are wanting to help the school in this way.
Please be in prayer for the upcoming Pastors’ Conference to be held in our church this September 12-15. We are six weeks away from this very important event. Our church is fasting and praying for the conference. We have been able to raise half of the $8,000.00 needed to finance the conference. Most of this has come through offerings from our church members. God always provides in ways we never expect. Please pray that pastors and church members will be motivated to reach their areas for Christ. Please pray that individuals will answer God’s call to serve Him full-time as missionaries, pastors, and evangelists.
God has been very good to us. We praise the Lord that our son Daniel and his wife Megan have begun deputation to come work with us here in Santa Ana. Please pray for them as they travel. If you would like for them to visit your church, please contact him at 219-213-1169. They have joined the FBMI family and are sent out by their home church, Bailey’s Grove Baptist Church of Asheboro, North Carolina.
Please join us in prayer and partner with us as we strive to reach this part of the world for Christ.
Joyfully in His service,
Henry Gonzalez
