In my Bible reading in recent days, I came across II Chronicles 32:7-8, “Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, not for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.” I cannot begin to tell you how the LORD encouraged and strengthened my heart when reading and then meditating on these verses of Scripture. I do pray they will do the same for you.
How can I put the last several months into words? This is the question that keeps coming to my mind while attempting to write this prayer letter. As of July 1, we were finally able to start meeting together as a church family. One problem—we only have a small meeting room that is part of our church office. We made the decision to purchase 6 canopies and meet outside. Several church families have lent us the use of their canopies. Our setup crew starts at 9:00 a.m., and when all is said and done, we have 10 canopies and tarps set up to create a “tabernacle” of sorts. The Kawasaki dealer beside our church office has allowed us to use their parking lot at no charge! We are most thankful to the Lord for His provision. Just in case you forgot where we live—CANADA! Yes, we must find a place to meet inside VERY soon. Please make this a matter of urgent prayer.
For the first time since our very first Vacation Bible School, we rented a local park for VBS. This meant we needed to set up the games, tables, and canopies every night. God brought the increase, with over 60 children registered and 5 boys getting saved! Please pray with us, as we are continuing to follow up on the visiting VBS families. We do have one new family attending church from VBS! Praise the Lord!
Our youngest daughter Emma is now in Grade 12. She is our Canadian girl. 😊 God willing, she will graduate in the spring of 2022 and be attending Bible college later that year. In addition to her Grade 12 class load, she is enrolled in two online college courses. Please pray for Emma as she seeks God’s will for her life.
Please take note of the following ministries and events that need prayer:
• Our Bible institute started in August with 6 students. Over the years, God has allowed us to see 12 adults complete the three-year program through Faith Bible Institute.
• September 17-18 – British Columbia Youth Conference
• October 9 – Ordination for our son, Caleb Turner. Caleb, Abbey, and Carson are planning to leave for Uganda sometime in October.
• October 24-27 – Missions Conference
• November 11-13 – Teen Fall Retreat
Thank you for your faithful support of what the Lord is doing here in the Vancouver area. God continues to faithfully provide!
