The year 2020 will forever be etched into our memories for many different reasons. We believe that John 16:33 speaks of just that, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We have witnessed that truth in so many ways this past year. Even in the midst of the greatest global turmoil, God is working in amazing ways. Here is a recap of much of what happened in the ministry of CMI in 2020.
New Media Ministries
We were able to add new countries under the sound of the Gospel by way of television. We added new broadcasts in Nigeria, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, and Panama. We were able to add new television outlets in already-reached countries by CMI as well. We added new television stations in Pakistan, India, China, and Brazil. This takes our total number of countries reached to 107.
New Broadcasting Model
With the ever-changing world in which we live and the difficulty of traveling abroad, we have launched a new model. We used to only record in Georgia, or we would take a mobile studio on the road to capture programming. We have decided to launch recording studios around the world, with partner ministries to expand our production and create efficiency. We began by building a TV studio in Colombia and a radio studio in Venezuela. We have huge plans about this new development that we can’t wait to share with you in 2021.
Help with U.S. Churches and Ministries
Typically, we reserve much of our time and efforts for Global Outreach. This year we spent much time with churches in the United States, with the ever-increasing need for digital media, streaming, and online giving. During the beginning months of the national shutdown, we helped over 100 churches with livestreaming setup, broadcasting from their parking lots, website builds, online-giving portals, and many other media-related projects. It was our privilege to help many churches stay relevant and present when many of their members could only watch online. We also conducted a media workshop for churches in Raleigh, North Carolina, and plan to conduct more in the future.
Church Planting
Our primary focus is broadcasting the Gospel, but the byproduct is always discipleship, church support, and church planting. We were excited to see many new churches planted in Pakistan, Ukraine, India, and Venezuela as a result of broadcasting the Gospel to those countries.
We are so excited that God continued to work and also allowed us to expand in many new ways. We look forward to sharing with you all that God has laid on our hearts for 2021!
