I hope you are enjoying your summer! Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
Introducing Our Daughter Emmalynn!
Many of you were aware that my wife Christa was due with our daughter on July 20. Back in May, we asked you to pray that my wife would not go into pre-term labor, like she did with our two boys, but that the baby would be born after July 6. I intentionally scheduled only four meetings in July so we could be home around the birth. On July 1, we had a meeting at Moorhead Baptist Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. Our midwife told us that she expected our baby to be born around that Sunday, so I decided to cancel that meeting. After that, I had nothing scheduled until July 26. Then we were invited to present our work at a church only about an hour’s drive from where we live, so we all went there on July 12. On July 22 at 11:07 a.m., our daughter, Emmalynn Maria Simmons, was born! She was 20 inches long and weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces. We were able to do a home birth, which we liked more than a hospital birth. Emmalynn is healthy, and my wife Christa is doing well. I ended up canceling the meeting we had on July 26 to help my wife, but then I finished the month with a meeting at Hope Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Praise the Lord that the birth went well and that my wife is recovering smoothly! Thank you for your prayers for the birth!
New Supporters!
We are thankful for two more supporting churches! Central Baptist Church in Alvarado, Texas, voted to partner with us in July! We enjoyed meeting them back in February. We were invited to present our ministry at Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on July 12. I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to go there, but we went since it was close by. We ended up having a wonderful meeting with them. They also voted to partner with us! We are now at 67% of our committed support! Praise the Lord that our support is steadily increasing!
Making Preparations
I am preparing to make a second, and most likely final, survey trip to Uruguay in the spring of 2021. One of the main purposes for the trip is to finalize housing for when we move there. In July I was able to communicate with several missionaries in Uruguay. I asked their advice on learning the dialect of Spanish in Uruguay and also on good areas to live in Montevideo, which is the capital city of Uruguay. I was able to get some very helpful feedback from them. I really appreciate the spirit they had in helping me. Some of the missionaries had been in Uruguay for decades and could have decided not to help a “green” missionary like me, but instead, they shared some very helpful advice with me. Please pray with me for wisdom as we work to decide the best way to learn and master the Spanish language and locate the right place to live.
We had one meeting already canceled in August due to COVID-19, so we now have 10 meetings in August. Please pray that we would be a blessing to churches and for safety while traveling.

Tim, Christa, Ethan, Evan, and Emmalynn Simmons
