God has been blessing our work in countless ways. He recently allowed one of our key families to renew visas. This is nothing short of miraculous in the current milieu, but we will get back to that near the end of the letter. This same team family was also able to move into an apartment that is much nicer and larger than the one in which they’ve been residing for the last several years.
Ministry Blessings!
Bro. M___, my right-hand man, has successfully transitioned into his new role as pastor of our main congregation. This move freed me up for our current furlough. The church is doing well under his capable leadership. I am happy to report that five formerly Muslim adults received Christ as Saviour during the course of the last week. This is absolutely amazing. Study the Word International, our newest global-outreach ministry, is making great strides forward. We are now offering several courses of college curriculum in many different languages.
Building Fund Update
Our Building Fund has a long way to go, but over $16,000 has been given or promised—nearly half of that in the last couple of weeks. Please pray for this to continue. If you feel impressed to help, you could contribute at love4turkey.com. All funds are funneled through FBMI.
Furlough Travels!
My family and I have now been Stateside for one month. I have already been in eight states (headed for the ninth in a couple of days). God has seen fit to use the preaching, with people responding to the altar calls in Missions Conferences, revivals, regular Sunday services, and just this week at a Hyles-Anderson College chapel service. Pray for my continued health and stamina. I have been so encouraged by many of the ministries I have visited. Many Baptist churches in America are growing, seeing souls saved, baptizing, and discipling new converts.
Opposition
Congregations on our field are being forced to close. Public services are being raided by police. Fellow workers are having their visas revoked and are being told they can never return. Believers are being forced out of the country by the hundreds. It is only by God’s grace that all five of our team families still have freedom to serve. Please make this situation a serious matter of prayer. We need God’s wisdom, provision, presence, protection, and power!
We can’t thank you enough for your prayers and financial support. I look forward to seeing many of you as I continue my travels through February, God willing.
