The past couple of months have been a little bit slower after coming off our extremely busy summer. It has been a welcomed change of pace, as we have been able to focus on some of the things that we were not able to get to over the summer.
Building Faith
We are moving full force ahead with the construction of our multi-purpose building. We are praying to have this building completed by Christmas. This is a much-needed building that will house Sunday schools and our Bible college, as well as a variety of other purposes.
Youth Discipleship
Each Saturday morning before church-wide visitation, I have a boys’ character-training class. I teach biblical principles as they apply to manhood. I am thankful for these boys who come on their own to the church to attend this class. These young men are the future of Tanzania!
God has been blessing our English Sunday school ministry. It has grown so much over the past few months that we have had to split it into three different classes. We also hold monthly Bible studies and activities for the teens in this ministry. What an encouragement it is to see these young people excited about learning God’s Word and inviting their friends to church as well!
A few Sundays ago, my heart was blessed as I looked out over the auditorium and saw young person after young person who had been in our youth group when we first came to Tanzania. There were over a dozen of them still with us, serving the Lord, over twelve years later. God has raised these young people up to be some of our staff men, Sunday school teachers, choir members, and faithful laymen. What a blessing and encouragement that is to me!
Open Doors
I am always amazed at how open people are to the Gospel. I have recently had some vehicle trouble and needed to use our local motorcycle taxis. On two different occasions, I was able to lead the driver to the Lord. As we bounced along our dusty
roads, I shared the wonderful news of the Gospel. Over the years, we have seen many of these drivers come to the Lord.
God Is Blessing!
Doors of opportunity are wide open here in Tanzania. Thankfully, we have never faced COVID lockdowns, and we have been free to continue our ministry as usual. We pray that these doors will always remain open. God has been blessing Faith Baptist Church tremendously. We are amazed as we watch God grow His church. At times, it can be exhausting keeping up with the work, but we are honored that He allows us to have a part in His great work.
Prayer Requests
Please be in prayer for the shipping container for the Morrows. All of their personal belongings, as well as many items for the church ministry and for our family, are on the container. Pray that it will make it here quickly and will not face delays or red tape with customs.
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our exemption. The government has extended the amount of time that missionaries can remain in the country without even needing an exemption, so we have several years before we will face this issue again. This is a huge blessing and an answer to prayer!
