“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)
“Busy and bustling” is how I would describe summertime here in our church.
May
On the 17th of this month, we had our church picnic. It is during this time that we can get together as a church family just to have a great time of fellowship. A week later, 35 of our young people and young adults enjoyed an overnight activity at the beach. The day was filled with fun activities and great messages from God’s Word. Our purpose was to challenge and encourage them to continue to serve God in their lives.
One of the highlights of this month was our Mother/Daughter Banquet. It was a blessing to have Carmelita, one of our young people who recently got married, speak to our ladies. With the theme of “The Fruit of the Spirit,” some ladies made head-dresses from real fruits, while others used colored papers to adorn their heads. Altogether, it was a light and hearty affair.
June
Before school started, our church went out soul winning in Dagami, Leyte. Please pray for us, as we are planning to start a mission work in this place. It is approximately 30 minutes away from our church, and it has a population of 36,000 people. Catholicism is one of its dominant religions. We are praying and looking for a place to rent so we can start having Sunday afternoon services there.
Prayer Requests
Please pray for . . .
1. JR, one of the men in our church. He accepted Christ as his Saviour and is now having discipleship lessons.
2. Kimber and Maricon, a married couple with three kids. They have been coming faithfully to our church and have expressed their desire to be part of our church by way of transfer.
3. Helen, one of our young people. She was recently hospitalized because of depression.
Again, thank you so much for faithfulness. Your prayers, love, and support to me, my family, and the church are a great blessing. We cannot thank you enough. God bless you all!
