Few things marginalize the birth of Jesus Christ like the placement of an “X” in Christmas, with the inference being, “Whatever you think goes before the “mas” is up to you; it doesn’t matter. Just stick it on the front, and you’ve got your holiday.”
If that was true, don’t tell M___. On Friday, December 12, 2025, M___, a Persian man, joined our two-hour Bible study online. I don’t know M___’s story, but I do know God brought him to us by appointment (we pray for appointments each week). The topic was on “The Immutable Truth of God’s Word: WHY It Can Be Trusted.” He leaned in for the entire study and heard how the Bible’s prophecies came to pass and how the miraculous symmetry of God’s Word lines up perfectly. Much had been done in M___’s life to bring him to this place, but the Bible’s superiority devastated every claim the Qur’an had made to him. M___ received Christ and is a new creature. Don’t tell him that an “X” belongs where God placed Christ; he now knows otherwise.
And if scratching “Xmas” cuts the writer’s cramp on your cards, don’t mail one to E___. E___ is a Pakistani who had never attended our Thursday class before; he was invited by S___, one of our translators. Last Thursday, December 11, 2025, providence brought E___ to our class. He learned how precious the Word of God is and that God “. . . hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalm 138:2) He learned Who the Word of God is, and why we call Him that. E___ received Christ last Thursday and is a new creature.
In recent weeks, God has been working beyond our virtual classrooms and across our websites. For almost five years, Besharatenjil has been targeting viewers and listeners across Afghanistan, and Pastor M___ faithfully manages the incoming traffic. On November 20, 2025, an Afghani named R___ reached out to him, and they entered into a lengthy dialog. After much discussion and reading of the Bible, Bro. M___ was able to lead him to Christ. The backstory here was how he found our website. An anti-Christian radical had tried to link our site to a PORN network (to try and ruin our traffic), so R___ had originally joined us hoping to find filthy pictures. Instead, M___ wisely began dealing with his root problem—SIN, and God used Bro. M___ to give him the Gospel. Instead, he trusted Christ! Wow! So in a very different way, the “X” was removed and “Christ” put in His proper place. Hallelujah!
