We are so thankful to the Lord for His provision since our last letter. He is such a wonderful and powerful God Who loves to show Himself strong. With regards to our last letter’s prayer requests, my wife and the baby had a checkup in the States; and, at last report, both are doing fine. We did find out it will be a boy, and the due date is February 11. Please continue to pray for Mom and Baby.
God has provided amazingly since we have returned. God provided us with a good vehicle, a Saturn Relay minivan, in great condition, with low mileage (about 54,000 miles), via a brother in New York State. What a blessing it is! God also provided us with a perfectly located apartment and the furnishings for our home base. There have been so many answers to prayer. One thing that we didn’t have was a stove. We, along with our son, prayed for a stove, and the Lord provided us with one via a neighbor. It is awesome for God to show Himself strong to our son!!!
We have traveled to meetings that God has provided for us in New York, Arizona, West Virginia, Virginia, and Oklahoma. God has been so good to us and has provided for us wonderfully. Thank God for His safety during those thousands of miles traveled.
We have been so thankful to be able to have the freedom to freely share the Gospel while here in the United States by witnessing and passing out tracts to so many we are able to come in contact with. We have been able to see people saved while out soul winning, as well as in church.
One awesome story of being able to be used of God happened at the end of a missions conference while at a church in West Virginia. It was the Sunday evening service when a Chinese couple came to church, having been invited by some soul winners. The Chinese couple owned a local Chinese restaurant. I met them at the beginning of the service. During the invitation I prepared to witness to them in case I was called upon. A few moments later, I was asked to come and witness to them in Chinese. Now you must understand that neither my wife nor I are yet fully fluent in the Chinese language, especially in reading and writing. I told the soul winner to pray for me, and I sat down to talk to the Chinese folk about the Gospel in Chinese. It was extremely obvious that the Holy Spirit was working. I was able to explain to them and show them the Gospel from the Chinese Bible. The wife was saved. All this time the invitation had been prolonged, and people were praying. However, the husband did not quite understand something, and I asked his wife to clarify his misunderstanding, which she did. A few minutes later, he called on Jesus, asking for salvation also. They had brought their son with them, but he spoke little Chinese and had apparently not understood much of what I had shared with his parents. So I explained in English what I had just shared with his parents in Chinese, and with tears on his cheeks, their son trusted Christ also. Praise God!!!
After being away for about a month and a half, we were able to return to our home base in Indiana, where we were able to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with family.
Please continue to pray for us as we travel and try to book meetings. Also pray for God’s wisdom as we continue to get things put into their proper places. Please pray that God will prepare the hearts of those here in the States that they would be able and willing to take us on for support. Also, please pray that God would be working on those in whom we have invested in China, specifically Wally and Terry, and for Terry’s wife to be saved. Pray also for Lionel and Chong Biao to be saved.
Please pray that God would now begin working out details for our return to China. Pray that the housing location and situation, the language school, and the host of other details would begin to fall into place in His perfect timing. Pray that we would learn the lessons we need to while on deputation. Please pray for our fellow teammates in China.
