What a joy it is be a soul winner! I find great joy in the fact that every member of our family was out sharing the Gospel recently. (May this continually be true until each of us gets to Heaven!)
Maria writes this about two of her recent soul-winning experiences:
Mr. Justice Klutse is an 87-year-old gentleman I met two Saturdays ago. He was sitting and waiting for the local car wash to finish with his vehicle. He accepted a Gospel tract and wanted to discuss salvation. He said he was trying to earn Heaven and praying but, at the same time, was discouraged by his own sin. He was so happy to receive the good news that Jesus had paid for his sins! He asked if I could come the next Saturday and visit his wife Victoria, who had recently had a stroke. So, this past Saturday, I went to see her. Though the stroke has greatly hindered her, she invited us into her home and allowed us to share the Gospel with her. Victoria did not get saved, but she did ask us to come back again. She was not feeling that well. Please pray that she will be saved.
This past Saturday, our daughters Joy and Faith went soul winning with Mrs. Speer and several Ghanaian friends. Joy witnessed to a 20-year-old young lady named Nana Akua. Nana claimed that she did not believe in God. It is very rare to meet a Ghanaian atheist, but she listened well as Joy presented the Gospel. Pray for her salvation. Faith witnessed to a 10-year-old named Tryphena Ofori. Faith believes this young girl trusted Christ.
Our youngest son Ben went with me. I found a young boy for Ben to witness to in English. He was a 10-year-old named Roland. When Ben was done, my soul-winning partner, Brother Moses, checked Roland’s understanding and explained things briefly again in Twi. In the end, I believe Roland trusted Christ. We went to Roland’s house to meet his parents, and before we could ask permission for him to come to church, his grandmother said, “Please, take this boy with you to church!” Now here is an interesting connection. We found out that Roland’s father had trusted Christ at a funeral I preached in May 2023! Do pray for Roland and his family to come to church.
Lastly, our son John won a Ghanaian to Christ in Chicago this past Sunday. (They were experiencing near-zero temperatures, while it was in the 90s here.) Their route was combined with another route, and that other route had brought a Ghanaian man named Nana to church. On the way home, John told this man how he had grown up in Ghana and then took the opportunity to share the Gospel with him!
I wish everyone reading this could experience the joy I am writing about today, and you can (Psalm 126:5-6)! Thank you for your prayers and support!
