Last week was our annual Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference; the theme was “Developing Leaders.” It was a great conference and well-attended. Pastor Speer asked me to teach four sessions; Maria taught two sessions for the ladies. Maria and Joy sang in the adult choir and Faith and Ben in the children’s choir. A New Family in Our Church
Francis Kusi first visited our Bible college in May of last year. He was attending a parachurch organization; the leader of that group brought Francis to our Bible college to receive training. During orientation, our graduate, Pastor Michael Naab, won Francis to Christ. Brother Francis immediately started learning how to win souls to Christ. Brother Francis and his wife Jennifer visited my Sunday school class in August. Pastor Speer made a follow-up visit and won Jennifer to Christ. Francis and his wife started attending our class faithfully in November, and they started bringing visitors.
Brother Francis has brought at least 15 adult and teen visitors to our Sunday school class. Most of these are his converts, and several of them have been baptized. Recognizing Brother Francis’ zeal, Pastor Speer hired Francis part-time to help follow up on local prospects from our church’s new “Living Water Ministry.” This ministry gets the Gospel to those who come to get water from our new borehole. This well was paid for by a ministry in the States called “Impact Others.” Through this ministry, Brother Francis has won many to Christ and brought many other visitors to Christ; as a result, converts have been baptized, and at least 6 people have joined the church.
In February, Francis’ wife Jennifer also enrolled in our Bible college in order to learn how to win souls. Most recently, she has been going soul winning with Maria. During our Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference, Brother Francis was awarded a Certificate of Evangelism since he has completed the soul-winning training. Prayer Requests
We thank God for the zeal of Francis and Jennifer and pray that God continues to use them to reach many for Christ. Pray also for God to send us more laborers like the Kusi family!
