Keith and Theresa Baker Prayer Letter: Survey Trip to Former Field of HaitiThank you to all of you who contacted us with your concerns about our wellbeing after not hearing from us in a timely manner. Due to circumstances beyond our control, our last prayer letter was sent out much later than usual. I had asked you to pray about our July trip into Haiti, but most of you apparently did not receive our letter until late in August. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I can now report that our Haiti trip did indeed go relatively smoothly.

We basically wanted to survey and see the state of the country and the prospect of continued ministry. Because international commercial flights into Haiti remain heavily restricted, we were able to secure seats on a Missionary Flights International plane. We flew into Cap-Haïtien and were not able to return to our former compound and ministry, which had been handed over to a national pastor. With the overall precarious and potentially dangerous conditions and our own observations from the trip, we have been advised not to consider a ministry in Haiti at this time.

However, our Field Service Coordinator at FBMI has suggested us to consider a trip into Belize, which has a significant and long-established population of Haitians living there. Theresa and I are planning to travel to this Central American country on October 16, as I have been invited to preach for the upcoming anniversary services for a 16-year veteran to Belize. This trip will help us to survey the current situation and ministry need of this area.

Until our trip, we continue to minister in Fort Myers, Florida, where we have the availability of doctors and dentists to address some ongoing health concerns. Recently, we visited a 96-year-old woman by the name of Dorothy, who sweetly accepted Christ as her Saviour after realizing her need for salvation. She told us that she had hoped she would have a home in Heaven—now she knows for sure.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Please continue to pray for our health and for our future ministry opportunities.

Respectfully,

Keith and Theresa Baker
