After many years of Bible college training and preparation, I am thankful to share that the Lord has led me to begin deputation with the goal of returning to my home country of Honduras. My desire is to dedicate the first years of my ministry to assisting my father, Missionary Osmin Gutierrez, who has faithfully served on the field for the past 24 years. What follows is a brief personal testimony and an overview of the ministry goals the Lord has placed on my heart.
I was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 2002 to my parents, Missionaries Osmin and Eva Gutierrez. Although I was raised in a strong local church, I came to understand that I personally needed salvation. On April 1, 2015, at the age of 13, I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. Later that same year, while attending a Youth Camp in Honduras, I surrendered my life to full-time Christian service.
Being born and raised in Honduras, reaching my home country has been a burden God has placed on my heart since childhood. However, I desired to follow the Lord’s leading and not rely solely on emotion. Through several trials in our family’s life, the Lord confirmed His call for me to serve specifically in Honduras in 2018.
After graduating from high school, I enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College in 2020. During my time there, I served on a bus route on the south side of Chicago, both as a worker and later as a bus captain. I had the privilege of serving alongside experienced servants of God and witnessing many souls saved, baptized, and discipled. In 2024, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Theology, and this month I finished working on a master’s degree in Christian Education, with graduation scheduled for May of 2026.
Upon returning to Honduras, my role will be to assist in teaching and administrating the newly established Christian school connected to our local church. I also have a burden to help reach the next generation of Hondurans, encouraging them to get saved, serve the Lord, and live according to Godly principles. Additionally, I hope to develop a music ministry that will help the young people in our church and surrounding churches learn the importance of Godly music and use their musical abilities for the glory of God.
During the first months of deputation, I will be traveling to churches in California, Kansas, Texas, North Carolina, and throughout the Midwest. I would be honored to have the opportunity to present the ministry the Lord has given me, should the Lord allow and if there is availability in your schedule. Above all, I ask for your prayers—for wisdom, for souls to be saved, and for safety as I travel and present the burden for Honduras. Thank you for your prayers and consideration. Después de muchos años de preparación y estudios en el instituto bíblico, estoy agradecido de poder compartir que el Señor me ha guiado a comenzar el proceso de visitar iglesias con el propósito de regresar a mi país natal, Honduras, como misionero. Mi deseo es dedicar los primeros años de mi ministerio a ayudar a mi padre, el misionero Osmin Gutierrez, quien ha estado sirviendo fielmente en Honduras desde el 2001. A continuación, comparto un breve testimonio personal y un resumen de las metas ministeriales que el Señor ha puesto en mi corazón.
Nací en Tegucigalpa, Honduras, en el año 2002, en el hogar de los misioneros Osmin y Eva Gutierrez. Aunque fui criado en una buena iglesia local, llegué a comprender que personalmente necesitaba ser salvo. El primero de abril del 2015, a la edad de 13 años, recibí al Señor Jesucristo como mi Salvador personal. Ese mismo año, durante un campamento juvenil en Honduras, rendí mi vida a servir en el ministerio a tiempo completo.
Habiendo nacido y crecido en Honduras, alcanzar a mi país ha sido una carga que Dios ha puesto en mi corazón desde mi niñez. Sin embargo, deseaba seguir la dirección del Señor y no basarme únicamente en mis emociones. A través de varias pruebas en nuestra familia, el Señor confirmó Su llamado a servir específicamente en Honduras en el año 2018.
Después de terminar la secundaria, me inscribí en el instituto bíblico Hyles-Anderson College, un ministerio de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Hammond, Indiana, en el año 2020. Durante mi tiempo allí, serví en una ruta de autobús en el lado sur de Chicago, como obrero y capitán de ruta. Tuve el privilegio de servir junto a siervos de Dios con experiencia y de ver a muchas personas ser salvas, bautizadas y discipuladas. En 2024, me gradué con una licenciatura en teología pastoral y, este mes, completé mis estudios para sacar una maestría en educación cristiana, con la graduación programada para el mes de mayo.
Al regresar a Honduras, mi función será ayudar en la enseñanza y en la administración de la escuela cristiana recientemente establecida por nuestra iglesia local. También tengo una carga por alcanzar a la próxima generación de hondureños, animándolos a ser salvos, servir al Señor y vivir conforme a principios biblicos. Además, espero desarrollar un ministerio de música que ayude a los jóvenes de nuestra iglesia y de iglesias cercanas a aprender la importancia de la música cristiana y a usar sus habilidades musicales para la gloria de Dios.
Durante los primeros seis meses del año, estaré viajando a iglesias en California, Kansas, Texas, Carolina del Norte, Illinois y Ohio. Sería un honor tener la oportunidad de presentar el ministerio que el Señor me ha dado, si el Señor lo permite y si hay disponibilidad en su agenda. Sobre todo, pido sus oraciones—por sabiduría, por almas que sean salvas y por protección mientras viajo y presento la carga por Honduras. Gracias por sus oraciones y consideración. Que el Señor les bendiga grandemente.
