We have finished our deputation trail! Mindy’s aunt watched our children as my wife and I finished our last meetings off in June. We first presented our ministry to Harmony Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The people there were very sweet. Then it was off to Kingsport, Tennessee, to be with Rock Heritage Baptist Church. This church decided to take us on for support a few months ago. It was great being able not only to present our ministry but also to preach the Word of God. It was a joy to be a part of the Missions Conference of Waits Baptist Church of Portsmouth, Ohio. We had the opportunity to present our ministry, sing a special number, and minister to the children there for their Junior Church. It was a real treat when they provided great Aussie food for one night of the conference! Our last meeting brought us all the way to Natalia, Texas, to be with Country Baptist Church. We had a great time with them! It was a very bittersweet moment for us.
By God’s grace, we were able to finish deputation in three years and three months. Looking back at what the Lord did for us during those years, I wouldn’t have done it any other way. We were blessed to meet so many dear people. We made friends with many of God’s people along the way. We had the opportunity to see the country and witness God’s great creation. We visited all but 2 of the lower 48 states. We were able to minister to thousands of people. We learned so much everywhere we went. The Lord has truly increased our faith in Him through His faithfulness and guidance!
For the rest of our time in America, we will be home in Michigan, preparing for our move. I was able to apply for our children’s first Australian passports at the Australian Consulate General’s office in Chicago, and we received them in less than two weeks! They will need them to enter Australia because they are Australian citizens. We were also able to apply to renew their U.S. passports, which they will need to leave the U.S. Please pray that these will arrive soon. We’re also excited to announce that we have purchased our plane tickets to Sydney, Australia! We will be leaving on August 12. This will give enough time for the children’s passports to come in and also to prepare for the move. We praise the Lord for all He has done! Thank you for your faithful prayers and support!
