We write this letter from the beautiful mountains of North Carolina as we wrap up our trip to the U.S. to see two of our sons graduate. Caleb graduated from Bible college, and Logan graduated from high school! We will soon be “empty nesters,” as Logan goes to college in the U.S. in the fall. We will celebrate 10 years in Peru at the end of this month, and it is nearly impossible to believe how quickly the time has flown! We just took our family on a quick vacation and got to spend time with them; we are so thankful for the godly young men they have become. Please be in prayer for Zach and Cassandra as they finish deputation and return to Peru and also for Caleb as he enters the ministry this fall.
We are pleased to hear that all is well back in Lima. Our staff men and ladies are busy following up on visitors, teaching Bible studies, and running the various ministries of the church. Additionally, we are preparing for our biannual Ladies’ Conference, which will be held at the end of June. We are hoping for a big attendance and are excited to have Mrs. Billie Sloan teaching for us this year, along with Jessica Gomez and Jenny Ashcraft. Please pray for this upcoming event.
Our institute is going well. We have begun the return to in-person classes, and we were glad to see a good number of both new and returning students. Several of our own Peruvian men and ladies are teaching this semester, and it is exciting to see their growth! Please pray for this ministry; pray that God would use it to bring many more workers into the harvest.
Right before our trip to the States, we spent a week deep in the Amazon, teaching a week of Bible seminary in order to restart a Bible seminary there in Pucaurquillo. We were able to teach the church how to witness and disciple and also about church growth. By God’s grace, the church was able to see 25 people saved while they went out soul winning that week! The village schoolteacher accepted Jesus, and I was able to baptize him in the river!
In the month of June, we will be traveling to Trujillo to preach, beginning our attendance campaign in our church in San Gabriel, and holding the Ladies’ Conference.
Please continue to pray for our churches to find property to purchase for their ministries! Property prices are very high here in Lima, and it can be very difficult to find something large enough for services and cost-effective for the church. Please don’t stop praying for this need!
Thank you to the many churches, pastors, and friends that hosted us while we were in the States. The delicious meals, hotel rooms, borrowed vehicles, and love offerings mean so much to us! By the time we return from our 5-week trip, we will have traveled about 70 hours by car and visited 14 churches, Lord willing—and also put on a few pounds! A special thanks to those churches that took us on for support. We appreciate you and look forward to partnering with you as we serve here in Peru. God bless you.
His for souls,
Zach and Karin Foust and Logan
