I was reminded recently during some sermon preparation of some of the changes that take place in a person after they get saved. A new mind, new understanding, new work, and new victory are some of those changes. I hope that each of us will take these responsibilities, pair them with the promises of God, and strive to live a life that pleases our heavenly Father!
Our family has been staying very busy for these last few weeks! On the first Sunday of May, I traveled out to a village church to be a part of their first service in their new building. To get there, we crossed a few rivers and drove around a mountain, and I had the opportunity to meet the chief of the village. These are things that I’ve dreamed about doing for years. God is good! Among her other responsibilities, my wife has started to help two young ladies begin to play the piano.
I mentioned in our last letter that we are beginning to learn the Hausa language. It is going well, but we would like to ask you to pray that God would give us understanding and wisdom in this area.
One of the seminary students gathered some young men who live near the church and asked me to preach the Gospel to them. I did so, and I believe that a few of them understood the Gospel and trusted Christ as the only way to Heaven! One of them came to church on Sunday and is interested in starting discipleship.
I was able to travel to Ogbomosho, Oyo State, and help the Berean Independent Baptist Church start a Bible institute. This church was started over 25 years ago. We’re excited that they are willing to take this next step in training and discipling people! I’ve also started to teach a Foundations of My Faith discipleship class during the Sunday school hour at church.
Thank you very much for your continued prayers and support. We know that it takes folks like you to send folks like us!
In His service,
Daniel, Erin, Ezekiel, and Gianna
