When I see God working in our people here in the Philippines, I thank God for the people who pray for and financially support this ministry. Thank you for your hard work and sacrifice in giving us the opportunity to represent our Saviour and you in this white harvest field.
It was a joy to see 818 precious souls profess faith in Christ during the months of July and August. It is exciting to see more and more of our members becoming soul winners.
Regine, a young lady who used to work in our bank, came to our home as a sales lady. As she was talking to Ester, I went to get a Bible so I could share the Gospel with her. Before she even saw the Bible, she began to ask questions about what our church believed. She was sincerely searching for the truth and had a desire to raise her children in a church environment. She joyfully accepted the Lord with tears, has promised to come to church, and is already trying to get her husband to come. I have assigned one of our ladies to follow up on her and disciple her. Please pray for her growth.
I have been praying and looking for ways to strengthen the unity of our church members and also to get our families to have devotions and walk with God in their homes. We started a program called “Christ in Our Homes.” We schedule a time with each of our families in their homes and invite other members who are close by and have a short devotion, prayer meeting, and a time of fellowship afterwards. We have been meeting in two or three homes a week. Jesus said that where two or three are gathered together in His name, He would be in the midst of them. If we gather in the homes of our members in the name of Christ, He will be a part of their homes. This has been a tremendous blessing to our people, and I believe it is doing much to strengthen our families.
I mentioned that our people began raising money for a transmission and other repairs for Daniel, one of our two jeepneys. Praise the Lord! We got the transmission rebuilt for less than the price of a used one and have also done several other repairs. Niel, one of our faithful men, has worked very hard during his off time to get Daniel back in shape. We got it on the road just in time to renew the registration. Daniel is getting pretty old and still requires a lot of TLC. We rejoice over the thousands of people who have been brought to church over the years in that old vehicle.
Please continue to pray that God would provide property to build our own facilities for our church. We are steadily raising money, but I’m not sure that we are raising it faster than the price of property is rising. We are in a booming area, and the value of land is skyrocketing.
A reminder, Aizabelle, one of our staff ladies, posts pictures and updates on our church’s Facebook page. Please see facebook.com/pbcdasma when you have time.
Thank you again for your love, sacrifice, and prayers to keep us in service for our Lord. May He richly bless your investment in His kingdom.
Yours for souls,
Courtney & Ester Godsoe
