SMITE Youth Camp
In April, our church hosted a group from Nigeria, led by Missionary Mark Holmes. This group came to conduct our second SMITE Camp (Student Missions Institute for Training in Evangelism). This camp is designed to train the youths how to evangelize children and conduct Bible Clubs. The camp was held April 15-19. Over 70 teens and Bible college students were a part of the camp.
Each afternoon, our campers conducted Bible Clubs in the areas around our church. We had 16 Bible Clubs, which enrolled over 1,100 children, with over 570 making the decision to trust Christ as their Saviour! Praise the Lord!
School Preaching
During the month of May, I was able to preach for three weeks to about 60 students at a junior high school. The students have been very attentive and receptive to the Gospel. The teachers have been encouraging the students to take notes of what I am teaching. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching these young people! Today I preached to the students about eternal security and gave them salvation booklets. Please pray that God will continue to use us to lead more students to Christ.
Soul Winning
A little over a year ago I went soul winning on one of our bus routes and was able to lead Clara, the mom of some of our bus riders, to Christ. Due to some difficulties, they have not been coming to church; however, two weeks ago they started coming again, and Clara followed the Lord in baptism! Please pray for Clara to be faithful and also for her husband to get saved.
On May 19, I was able to witness to Augustine Afriyie and his two daughters, Janneke and Emmanuela, while out soul winning in Barekuma. All three of them gladly chose to trust Christ as their Saviour! The following week, Bro. Thomas Moah was able to witness to Augustine’s wife, and she also trusted Christ! This family attends a different church, but Mr. Afriyie said he likes our teachings. Please pray for this family to be established in the faith and to join a church that is preaching the true Gospel!
Expanding Influence
I have received an invitation to preach at a Youth Conference in Freetown, Sierra Leone, August 28-30. I will be teaching on salvation and also on sexual purity. I plan to give out a copy of my book God’s Call to Sexual Purity to all who attend the conference. I believe this is a great opportunity to impact many young people and many churches for Christ.
Please pray that God would use me to make a difference for eternity while in Sierra Leone. This trip, along with the printing of the books, will cost several hundred dollars.
