Converts and Disciples
I thank the Lord that He allowed me to lead 14 people to Christ through personal soul winning in the months of June and July. The fields are ripe unto harvest!
A few months ago, I was able to lead Dominic Owusu, a man who visited my Sunday school class, to Christ. He has been coming to church regularly but was hesitant to get baptized. A few weeks ago, he came to me to tell me he was ready to get baptized, and on July 27, he followed the Lord in baptism!
School Preaching
Our school ministry has been growing! We now have over 20 people involved in preaching in schools on a weekly basis. Through this ministry, we have been able to give the Gospel to thousands of people! Recently, we were given the opportunity to preach at an area junior high school. They allowed us to preach to the students in their classrooms, and they allowed us to preach to them for 4 straight weeks. Eight preachers from our church preached to the students each week. I was able to preach to a class of over 50 students. After preaching to them for a few weeks, we gave the students salvation work booklets to study and fill out to help them to be established in the faith.
We then did one-on-one confirmation with the students to make sure they understood the Gospel and had trusted in Christ. It was a blessing to have 22 students from my class testify that they had trusted Christ through my preaching or through the salvation booklet! Please pray for the door to remain open here for us to preach in the schools. Also, please pray for more laborers for this fruitful ministry.
University Ministry
We continue to go soul winning each week at a nearby university. We are planning to start meeting early Sunday morning each week on the campus to help our converts to grow in the Lord. Please pray for us to have wisdom to help the students become fruitful disciples of Christ. I was contacted last week by Oheneba, one of my converts who is a student at the university. He asked me if I could teach him how to evangelize. I was thrilled! He joined us for soul winning this past Saturday and was able to observe me lead a student to Christ. He is planning to join us for soul winning each week. Please pray for him to become an effective soul winner.
Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference
We are preparing for our annual Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference that will be held August 12-15. We are expecting several hundred people to attend the conference this year. Dr. Mark Bosje, our sending church’s missions director, is coming to be our keynote speaker. Please pray for God to work mightily and for us to help God’s servants to be better equipped and more effective in reaching souls for Christ.
