Thank you for serving the Lord in your churches with hearts and prayers pointed towards missions and getting the Gospel to the lost! Our area of Thailand has been growing in popularity with the local people and also with expats. The many visitors and the growing number of retirees bring economic growth that directly affects the lives of our Hua Hin and Nong Phlap church members when it comes to their daily work. These happenings have opened doors for many new folks to come to church. The futures of both of these churches, in addition to the opportunities for new churches, are full of amazing possibilities that encourage us to serve with Godly optimism. It has been a very different last twelve months that have brought a lot of blessings, a lot of healing, a lot of loving, and a lot of just plain old digging in and taking care of the needs of the people. This last year has had my time divided between helping and ministering to both of the churches, as they have experienced times of repair, restoration, and rejoicing. Today, through God’s grace, both churches are well-spirited, growing, and poised for greater growth and expansion. It is almost unexplainable how we love them, the staff and the dear people who make up both of these churches. A few years ago, the Lord led me to plan a furlough for the fall of 2025, which will begin on August 11, 2025. As we near this date, it has become increasingly painful to think of being so far from those whose lives we have invested in and have come to love. Undoubtedly and with thankfulness, the churches here will continue to grow, and we have great confidence in the men and families who will be shepherding, caring, and serving God’s people here. On the other hand, and from a furlough perspective, we have joy thinking about seeing and reuniting with many of you in the States who have given your hearts, prayers, and treasures to the Thailand mission field. Upon our return to Thailand in early 2026, with continued prayerful motivation, we will seek to capitalize on the many amazing ministry possibilities as the Lord leads, working and coordinating with the dear staff, church families, and future servants of God. With renewed focus, we desire to increase the Kingdom of our Lord in the Kingdom of Thailand.
IBC-Hua Hin and IBC-Nong Phlap
Just a recap of June and July, we have seen so many people trust Christ and many first-time visitors and baptisms also. We have loved every service, and the spirit of the churches is one of joy in growing in the Lord. The Matthew Bosje family has been a tremendous boost to the Hua Hin church in so many ways. Pastor Pong has been doing a wonderful job pastoring in Nong Phlap. Please pray for both of these men and their families over the coming months as they lead, serve, pray, and sacrifice for the people whom God has brought to Him. Nong Phlap attendances averaged 125, with a high day of 150. Hua Hin attendances averaged 75, with a high day of 93.
Soccer Ministry
Last week, 25 young men joined us to play in the weekly soccer ministry. As other groups of young people wait for our group to finish playing, we take the opportunity to share with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and many have trusted Christ or have been saved through our church teenagers inviting other teenagers. Three of our young men have had the opportunity to preach to the group, with another young man scheduled to preach next week. This ministry is just fun and exciting. Please pray for more souls to get saved and come to church. Pray also for more young men to develop through preaching and personal growth in the Lord.
Soul Winning
For soul winning within both churches for June and July, through God’s greatness, our family was involved in seeing 55 souls saved. My kids—Harmony, Autumn, and Forest—were all involved in leading someone to the Lord on the same day. Harmony spoke to teenagers, PeeMaew and Mee. Autumn talked to Ruby, age 9, which was a big deal, as Autumn can be very shy. Forest and Star both talked to Leigh Leigh, a 48-year-old man. One Thursday after soul winning, Harmony and I were running around the village when I received a call. A group of believers, whose work schedule does not allow them to come to church, asked if I would come and preach for them. It was late and I was sweating it up, but we quickly changed and went to them. Praise the Lord for people who are hungry for the Word of God. Also, they invited another worker, Petchu (19), to come and hear, and he accepted Christ as his Saviour that night. A woman named Goolap, who had accepted Christ as her Saviour a few months before, was there also. Her entire family and village are staunch Buddhists. In spite of great opposition, Goolap wanted to show her faith through baptism the next Sunday. It was a very decisive moment in her life, as she was publicly choosing Christ over all she has ever known. She clung to my wife, sobbing tears of joy after her baptism. Please pray for Goolap and for more of her family to be saved.
There is much to do for the Lord here in Thailand, and we thank you again for praying for our family and the ministries here. We pray for your new school year to be a year of growth in the Lord. God bless you dear friends.
