Amidst all the changes that we have seen in our world recently, there is one change that has affected our family most. Our baby girl was born! Emma Kristine Christiansen was born on May 11, 2020, at 6 pounds 7 ounces and 19½ inches long. Since then, Emma has been growing like a weed. We have been blessed beyond measure. So far, Emma has been perfectly healthy, and the pediatricians have been very pleased with her progress. She is a very alert baby and loves to look at everything around her. Emily has been recovering well from the delivery and is very happy to no longer be pregnant. We are still learning the ropes of being parents, but God has been very good to us.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, most of our meetings were either canceled or rescheduled to a later date for a couple of months. So unfortunately, we have not been able to have meetings with churches recently. While this is not what we would have chosen for ourselves, we know that this bump in the road did not surprise God. God has continued to provide for us and given us blessings that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. We have had the opportunity to spend some time with our sending church in Winthrop, Maine. We had some extra time to prepare for and adjust to the birth of Emma. God’s people have been kind in giving to us. There have been many who have given us extra love offerings, especially members from the 66First Baptist Church of Hammond. This season has been an excellent lesson in how God will provide, even amid unforeseen circumstances.
Thankfully, we will be heading back on the road within the next couple of weeks for several meetings in the South. We are grateful to be headed back on the road. Please pray for us as we as new parents learn how to travel the country with a newborn. We have a lot to learn.
That all the world may know,
Caleb Christiansen
