“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth,
and even for evermore.”
(Psalm 121:8)
I always claim this verse when I travel, and during the month of March, I traveled a lot. I went from San Antonio, Texas, to Portage, Indiana, to Shreveport, Louisiana, then to Dallas, Texas, then to Corsicana, Texas, and then back to Shreveport. The Lord had me preach at three separate Missions Conferences. I filled the pulpit for Faith Baptist Church in Kilgore while they were seeking a pastor, and I preached a funeral service for one of their faithful members. A young man was saved in a college chapel service I preached at in Mesquite, Texas. Over 4,000 miles of driving and wear on this old body, but the Lord preserved my going out and my coming in. I was able to meet many old friends who have helped with the ministry of supplying the Word of God for folks who have never owned a copy of God’s Word. Many have never seen the Bible in their language.
We helped with the collation of Thai John & Romans in Longview, Texas. The project of nearly one million John & Romans was completed and delivered to BEST Missions in Rogers, Arkansas, to be loaded and shipped in April.
Thank you so much for your help, prayers, and support in supplying the Word of God to those in Southeast Asia. Your giving will be rewarded in Heaven!
The good folks at Colonial Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas, and others loaded the 31st container of Scriptures headed for Bangkok, Thailand. With this container, BEST Missions has provided over one million Thai John & Romans in the last six months.
Other printing ministries have provided us with Thai and Burmese materials free of charge. We now have two or three containers of material that need to be loaded and shipped. The cost of shipping has increased by 50% since the first of the year. It is your faithful support that allows us to cover this cost. God is still providing, even in a pandemic!
April 17 marked the 55th anniversary of my accepting Christ as an 18-year-old senior! I can truly say, The Lord has been good to me.
I preached at a Pastors’ Fellowship and attended a large Missions Conference in Fort Worth, Texas. Bro. Hall and I represented BEST Missions at the Baptist Leadership Conference, and I attended the Old-Fashioned Tent Revival at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Longview. Every preacher needs a little preaching.
Tan, the young man I’ve mentioned in previous letters, keeps everything going for BEST Missions in Thailand. He not only correlates the containers of Bibles and other materials, but he also works personally with 150 national pastors to make sure that every Bible gets put into the hands of believers. There are several hundred churches in Southeast Asia that depend on BEST Missions.
I would like to tell you one story that Tan shared with me. In December of 2020, a Thai lady from the province of Surinthani in the northeast area of Thailand received a Thai Bible for the very first time. By the end of April, she had read the entire Thai Bible through, a total of 2,527 pages. She found the sticker, which we place in the front of each Bible with our ministry information. She made a call to Tan and, with tears, thanked him for providing her with a copy of God’s Word.
Truly, our thanks go to folks like you who give, so we are able to provide God’s Word to people in Southeast Asia like the dear lady mentioned above. Thank you so much!
