“And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
I don’t know what part of the world you live in today, but there is not a part of the world that the COVID-19 pandemic has not affected. There are no barriers or boundaries that COVID cannot cross. There is no group of people that has not been affected.
In areas in America, Christians are told not to attend church without penalty, or if they do attend, they are not to sing or praise the Lord! Today many would say that it is impossible to spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide. I believe Jesus when He said, “All nations” and “Every creature.” It is sad when the spread of a virus becomes more important than spreading the Gospel, and where the government can choose to close down churches, which are responsible for the propagation of the Gospel.
I feel very fortunate to live in a state where we can still attend church services. I had the privilege to fill the pulpit for several men of God locally. I always talk about the great need for Bibles around the world.
Sam Martin of World Missions Bearing Precious Seed has committed to print over a million Scriptures in the Thai language and has already started the printing and assembling process. Not only do we need funds for shipping, but we are hindered by shipping regulations that have been made because of the virus. We have several containers of Scriptures ready to be sent, but the government has put a halt to shipping overseas. Would you please pray for the impossible to become possible?!
Of course, there is a need for us to continue to travel and present the need for funds to ship the containers of Scriptures ready to be sent to our Distribution Center in Thailand. Scriptures like these from Bearing Precious Seed are given to us at no cost, other than the cost for shipping, but there is also a need for us to continue to print Bibles in Thailand. We just received 7,000 whole Thai Bibles. Our God is able to make all things possible!
As we move into the eighth month of the pandemic, we continue to look to the Lord to make all things possible. I’m thankful that the Lord is still allowing me to travel and present the need for Scriptures in the world. We have had some wonderful services.
In September, we will conduct the Third Annual B.E.S.T. Missions Conference in Rogers, Arkansas. This year, Pastor John Wilkerson will be the featured speaker. Please pray for men of God and church members to be able to attend this conference.
The fear of COVID-19 has kept many folks at home and away from church services. The media has produced a climate of fear, but we must continue to take the Gospel around the world. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) We have nothing to fear but fear itself. We must trust God, believe His Word, and use some common sense. We will see this pandemic through, but we MUST continue to do what God has called all Christians to do. “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” (Mark 13:10)
There are many who are sick and hurting. There are many who are alone and needing help. We certainly pray for God’s healing, strength, and grace for them; but I believe the greatest need is still for every believer, wherever he or she lives, to own a copy of God’s Word. What would you do if you didn’t own a Bible? Most of the world does not know that God wrote a Book to help them through times like these.
We thank you for praying. We thank you for giving. We thank you for being a part of B.E.S.T. Missions. We love you and thank God for your faithfulness to the Lord. If I can be of help to you in any way, please feel free to contact me at bestmissions.org or at 219-718-7772.
Into all the world,
Bob Bowen
