It is with great joy that we send you this greeting from Vancouver, British Columbia. Yesterday, Anchor Baptist Church celebrated her 20th anniversary! God is so good, and He continues to show Himself strong on our behalf. For the first time, we had our anniversary service outside. There were several tents set up for people sitting in chairs, and there were a good number of people who drove in for the service.
In British Columbia, we are still under several restrictions for church services. The limit for meeting inside or outside is 50. For outdoor services, you can have an additional 50 vehicles if you have a big enough parking lot. The day would not have been complete without some rain. It is not uncommon for us to still have cooler weather and rain in June. Yesterday, it was raining off and on during the service, and the high temperature was 14°C (57°F). In spite of not being able to invite visitors due to the restrictions, we had 3 first-time visitors! Praise the Lord! Through it all, we were able to see God working and preparing Anchor Baptist for this next year of ministry.
Please pray with us, as we are once again seeking a new place to meet for our services. The current office space we are using for services will only hold 35-40 people. We are reading that by September, all restrictions should be lifted. When this happens, we would really like to have a place where we can all meet. The last time Anchor Baptist Church was fully able to be together for a service was mid-March 2020. Our livestream services have been running smoothly, and for that we are thankful.
In the last two years, we have started a new ministry of mailing Gospel tracts to our community. God has supplied the funds needed to mail over 240,000 Gospel tracts. We have seen souls saved and people added to the church because of this outreach. The name we have given this ministry is the Gospel Mail Advance. Please pray with us for much fruit to remain for God’s glory.
Thank you for continuing to support the work of the Lord here in Vancouver. We are seeking the Lord for revival and more labourers.
God bless you!
