Thank you very much for praying for us and for giving so that we can do what God has for us to do. We are amazed at how God is allowing us to serve Him. We are convinced that we are involved in something that is making a difference.
Our annual Fires of Evangelism Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference, February 20-23, was blessed by God. Twenty people surrendered to full-time service in the Thursday evening service! Praise the Lord! Our people worked so hard and with such a sweet spirit. It was a real treat to see many of our graduates there. If you ever want to get a good glimpse of what your support of this ministry is accomplishing, I urge you to be with us next year. The dates are February 19-22, 2024. My dear friend, Bro. Elmer Fernandez, and Bethel Baptist Church of Bartlett, Illinois, are a huge financial help with this conference and others around the Spanish world.
While in the Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference in North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, California, we met Samuel Ruiz. He is a student at Golden State Baptist College. His father, Efrain Ruiz, is a graduate of Mount Hebron Bible Baptist Institute of many years ago. Bro. Efrain has faithfully served God in Tixtla, Guerrero, a small town in the mountains of southern Mexico. He has an outstanding church and works in mountain villages surrounding the town. You had a part in training Bro. Efrain. Samuel is planning to return to Guerrero to work with his dad. What a blessing!
Emily and I always go out with the soul-winning groups of the churches we visit. Most recently, we did so in Florida and Texas. We seldom go soul winning there without having someone saved. Our experiences in the U. S. have increased our admiration for churches who keep seeking the lost. God blesses us when we obey the Great Commission wherever we are.
Last Thursday, Emily and I took our 11-year-old grandson Jonathan Jr. with us. A young man by the name of Bryan listened as I gave him the plan of salvation, and he trusted Christ as his Saviour. Jon Jr. led TWO people to Christ! I hope Jonathan will enjoy remembering going soul winning with his Papa and Aunt Emily.
We are scheduled to be in ten churches during the rest of March and in April. This includes five conferences for pastors and workers and one Missions Conference. Please pray that God will use us to challenge and encourage His people. Pray for our annual Bible Clubs held April 11-15 and a big day on April 16, when we are expecting hundreds of people to hear the Gospel.
Thank you for your faithfulness in “holding the ropes.” These are challenging times for all of us. This is an exciting time to be involved in what God is doing.
Yours for souls,
Bro. Tommy and Emily Ashcraft
