Thank you once again for taking the time to read our prayer letter. Thank you to all who send messages to us after reading them, letting us know you are praying. Those messages are a true encouragement to our family.
We mentioned about the medical team in our previous letter. We had 4 doctors and 16 helpers. They saw hundreds of people. They gave medicine, hundreds of eyeglasses, general consultations, and X-rays. The Gospel was given to each person who came, and as a result, we saw about 250 saved. I myself was able to lead 59 people to the Lord. We were very glad that the team came to be a blessing to so many people.
In October, we were able to have our 16th Anniversary as a church. We rejoice with the 16 souls that trusted Christ during the services. We had 192 in attendance, along with many visitors.
In November, God gave us another blessing. Benjamin Josiah Alvarez was born on November 25. Tonya and Benjamin are doing well. Thank you to all who prayed for our little boy. God is good. Our other children are overjoyed to have another sibling.
In December, I was able to be a part of the wedding of Alejandro, a young man who grew up in our church. Alejandro and his new wife plan to serve alongside us here in Belize for one year. They will be helping with the music, kids’ classes, and bus routes. Praise God for fruit that remains.
In more news, Bro. and Mrs. Keith Baker, former veteran missionaries in Haiti, have decided to come serve with us for six months. They will be helping us with Kids’ Clubs, marriage classes, and discipleship. We are thrilled to have these servants of our Lord help us. We look forward to learning from their experience and their love of ministry. Please pray that they can figure out all of the necessary paperwork involved in staying here.
As we plan for the New Year with all of its activities, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that we would grow in wisdom and in our faith. Pray that in this coming year, all we do would glorify God. Pray that we would do exactly what the Lord would have us do.
Thank you for your prayers and support. May you all have a blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
In Christ,
Israel and Tonya Alvarez
