There are some I get to preach to each week; most notably are P___ and his daughter G___ from Afghanistan. These are two very strong believers. They are refugees who have moved to a city in Pakistan, and for several months, Pastor N___ and I, through YOUR giving, have been able to supply them with schoolbooks, clothes, food, and Gospel preaching and teaching. N___ makes 10-hour round trips to deliver these staples, as well as some pocket money.
N___, who is 11 years old, is a motivated student. Her favorite subject is math. Her father sent me some footage that made my jaw drop. Before she could afford notebooks, she would write math problems on the walls in their one-room apartment. Her English is excellent, and she does much of the translating for her father. This is an intelligent girl who has taken off like a bottle rocket in her studies, largely because she has been given hope! Some Christians from America and a pastor from a nearby Baptist church have shown her the love of Christ. Each week during our classes, I hear her pray. During her prayers, she affectionately says, “عیسی مسیح”, which is “Isa Mosih” or Jesus Christ, my Saviour.
URGENT PRAYERS FOR
F___ in Afghanistan: He was saved through our Afghani website (besharatenjil.com); Pastor M___ led him to Christ. When his family learned of his conversion, he was banished from his father’s home and now must live in the streets. Please pray for him.
M___ in Pakistan: M___ is an Afghani Christian who was able to gain temporary refugee status in neighboring Pakistan. His wife is with him and is not yet a believer, but she loves him and wants to be with him (often, not the case when a spouse converts to Christ). His visa ran out, and we were able to connect him with a pastor in his host city and send him enough to secure his legal paperwork. He has a month’s time to stay in Pakistan while their documents are being reviewed. Please pray for visas to be awarded. M___ was arrested by the Taliban and spent a year in jail (I remember the arrest, his disappearance, and his release). He is terrified at having to return to his home country.
M___ Ali in Afghanistan: He is not yet a believer, but very close. His wife was killed by the Taliban. He is learning to trust Jesus. Pray for him, please.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and giving each month and the special gifts many of you give. This is some of the fruit . . .
