Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! We stand amazed, watching God work through mortal man here in this not-so-distant land. Our four churches are marching forward, our teens came back charged from Youth Camp, our people have been faithfully giving to support missionaries around the world, and our Christian school is also going ahead full steam. Glory to God.

We have been focusing some more on our second church, which I pastor. It is located in the mountains about 20 minutes from our first church. One might think that being in the mountains, the people are sparse or live on ranches, but such is not the case. It is a very inner-city area. What actually happened is that the city grew over the mountain. We hold services there on Wednesday evenings, and we use lanterns since our building there does not have electricity.

One of the pastors here in our state held a special Teen Camp. We took our youth group to hear some challenging preaching, participate in amazing competitions, and, as always, to enjoy the camp food! Of course, it rained cats and dogs every day, and our kids returned full of mud and vigor to serve the God! My entire family accompanied the youth group, and it was truly a memorable experience. We are helping them to fulfill the decisions that they made with opportunities to serve here in the church.

We are trying something new. We had a special day for some of the young people from our routes. They stayed all day one Sunday, from our morning service until the evening service. Some of our dear members gave their time to help teach them, play games, and feed them.

We served them American pizza, and we also took them to the park. It was a great time for my family to connect with some of our bus kids, and to show them personally how their pastor cares for them. We are planning more activities like these with our riders. Please pray for these young people. Many of them depend solely upon us for their spiritual needs.

We are also expanding our music ministry. We have started a new guitar class for our young people. We have several guitar players in our church, but there’s always room for more. One of our faithful men, Brother Abraham, dedicates himself to this endeavor. His son Carlos also helps to teach guitar. My wife also trains our violin players, who play along with the piano during our church services. This ministry has been a great blessing to our church family and always lifts our hearts closer to God. It also keeps our young people involved and offers them another place for service.

We are still raising funds for a four-cylinder vehicle. Our four vans are wonderful for our routes, but they are overkill for daily tasks and making visits. Again, we appreciate your prayers in this matter. Also, please continue to pray for our safety and for these precious people whom God has called us to serve. We are praying for you.

¡Alaoado sea Dios, de quien fluyen todas las bendiciones! Nos quedamos asombrados al ver a Dios obrar a través del hombre mortal aquí en esta tierra no tan lejana. Nuestras cuatro iglesias están avanzando, nuestros adolescentes regresaron con energías del campamento juvenil, nuestra gente ha estado dando fielmente para apoyar a los misioneros en todo el mundo y nuestra escuela cristiana también está funcionando a toda máquina. Gloria a Dios.

Nos hemos estado centrando un poco más en nuestra segunda iglesia, que pastoreo. Está ubicada en las montañas, a unos 20 minutos de nuestra primera iglesia. Uno podría pensar que, al estar en las montañas, la gente es escasa o vive en ranchos, pero ese no es el caso. Es una zona muy céntrica de la ciudad. Lo que realmente sucedió es que la ciudad creció sobre la montaña. Celebramos servicios allí los miércoles por la noche y usamos linternas, ya que nuestro edificio allí no tiene electricidad.

Uno de los pastores aquí en nuestro estado celebró un campamento especial para adolescentes. Llevamos a nuestro grupo de jóvenes a escuchar predicaciones desafiantes, participar en competencias increíbles y, como siempre, ¡a disfrutar de la comida del campamento! Por supuesto, llovió a cántaros todos los días, y nuestros jovenes regresaron llenos de barro y vigor para servir a Dios. Toda mi familia acompañó al grupo de jóvenes, y fue realmente una experiencia memorable. Los estamos ayudando a cumplir las decisiones que tomaron con oportunidades de servicio aquí en la iglesia.

Estamos probando algo nuevo. Tuvimos un día especial para algunos de los jóvenes de nuestras rutas. Se quedaron todo el día un domingo desde nuestro servicio de la mañana hasta el servicio de la tarde. Algunos de nuestros queridos miembros dieron su tiempo para ayudar a enseñarles, jugar y alimentarlos. Fue un gran momento para que mi familia se conectara con algunos de nuestros niños de las rutas y les mostrara personalmente cómo su pastor los cuida. Muchos de ellos dependen únicamente de nosotros para sus necesidades espirituales.

También estamos ampliando nuestro ministerio de música. Hemos comenzado una nueva clase de guitarra para nuestros jóvenes. Tenemos varios guitarristas en nuestra iglesia, pero siempre hay lugar para más. Uno de nuestros fieles hombres, el hermano Abraham, se dedica a esta tarea. Su hijo Carlos también ayuda a enseñar guitarra. Mi esposa también entrena a nuestros violinistas, que tocan junto con el piano durante los servicios de la iglesia. Este ministerio ha sido una gran bendición para nuestra iglesia y siempre eleva nuestros corazones mas cerca de Dios. También mantiene a nuestros jóvenes involucrados y les ofrece otro lugar para el servicio.
