  • Kounaro and Chorvy Keo Prayer Letter: Hard DecisionsIn the picture below, you’ll see a man we call “Uncle.” About five years ago, he and his family moved right across from our church. His wife and their only son come to our church very consistently and got saved and baptized. Now every Saturday afternoon, she comes with our church ladies to clean and set up chairs for the Sunday service. We are so thankful for her faithfulness. Her husband came once or twice, and I had the opportunity to witness to him, but he did not want to be saved. He drinks almost every day with his friends. Sometimes, when he comes home drunk, he hurts his wife. She has called the police a few times already. This past September, his wife asked our church people to pray for his salvation again. He lost a lot of weight due to his strong drinking, and I think he is dying from it. I had another opportunity to see him at his home and witness to him on September 19. Thank the Lord, this time he accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour.

In my last prayer letter, I mentioned that my mother-in-law has two kinds of cancer. Well, she is done with her chemotherapy and radiation for her lung cancer. The doctor had her take an x-ray to see if her treatment was a success. We have not heard the test results yet. Whatever the outcome is, she will still need a different treatment over the course of one year. My mother-in-law also has to do surgery on her breast cancer around November 15.

We prayed much and sought much counseling about coming back from the field to take care of my mother-in-law and her husband. She is 78 years old, and her husband is 82 and has dementia. We are in a transition right now. First, we ask that you to continue to pray, and second, we ask, if you could, to continue to support our family until the end of January 2025. This is a very difficult decision for us to make. My phone number is 913.280.2681 if you would like to talk to me personally. Thank you.

    For Christ’s sake,

    Chorvy, Kounaro, & Jonathan Keo
