We’re excited to update you all with what the Lord has been doing here in Peru! We have many blessings to share. First of all, at the end of August, our church had a Baptism Sunday, where I was able to baptize 10 converts! It was a great day, with many first-time visitors and family members of those getting baptized. It’s been exciting to see our church grow.In the beginning of September, Team Peru held its annual Pastors’ Conference here in Lima, which saw pastors and Christians come from across Peru and other countries. Our church members do a lot of the setup and work during the conference, and this year was no different. Cassandra and I were grateful to be a part all week through teaching, singing, and preaching.
Shortly afterwards in September, Cassandra and I were able to get our residency cards here in Peru! This has been a long time coming, with many setbacks over the last two-plus years. Thank you to all who prayed for this! This greatly helps us enter and leave the country.
The next week, we traveled to Iquitos, Peru, to help our national pastor friend, Romario Bustamante, build a new church building. We went with a group of men from our supporting church, Beth Haven Baptist Church, in Sheridan, Michigan. These guys work in construction and came ready to build. The trip went well, and the crew together was able to build a new building in six days. We also got to travel down the Amazon to a new village, where I preached the Gospel. We also gave out a new water system from Pure Water for All. Many folks accepted Christ, and they were very receptive.
We returned to Lima, where the Christian school and Bible institute are in full swing. Cassandra is teaching in the school, and I have two classes this semester in the Bible institute. Please pray for all to go well!
We have some more prayer requests as well. Please pray for a big outreach day we have planned on November 1 for the Day of the Dead. Yearly, our church goes to the local cemetery on that day, where we share the Gospel with all who will listen. Thousands of Gospel tracts are given out, and many folks accept Christ. Please pray for this year’s event to go well!
This month, I was privileged to lead several folks to the Lord. Please pray for these new converts! Also, next week, Cassandra and I return to Iquitos for a week of institute in the local church there with Pastor Romario. Please pray for these men and women who are training to serve the Lord.Thank you also to those who have continued to pray for my health, as it continues to improve.
God bless you all!
